Play-Asia has the best price I can find by quite a wide margin. Any place offer a better price?

Keep in mind they still go for a fairly high price in Japan. I will be using this mainly for DVD's and just a handful of games. If I can't find a good deal then I think I will just get a DVD player.

The PS2 is not a DVD player, even though it plays DVDs. Sony would've put some tricks into it to prevent from being region free.

Since you live in a major city, it shouldn't be too hard to track down a Japanese PS2 at some place.

Yes, I want to play import PS2 games. I have a stack of them staring at me.

However, I have a bigger stack of DVD's I'd like to get at first. It's basically a question of whether I should drop $75 to get a JP DVD player to hold me over or if I should bite the bullet and buy a PS2 that can do both.

Of course, just at a much worse price than Play-Asia. There are plenty of options to choose from but I'd like to see if I can do better than Play-Asia's current price.

I made the same mistake. He wants to play Japanese PS2 games. For that he'd need... something... or else just get a PS2 from that region.

Have you checked eBay?
