importing psp...

Get it from either lik-sang or play-asia. I'd recommend play-asia just because I buy a lot from them, but both are reputable..

Isn't it coming out the 15th of December in USA?
No.
Try next June or possibly even later...
Wrong again. Try March, that's what Sony's stating.

I bet they hold off and ship next fall in the US. It will get a slight redesign and the battery life will be extended. Japan will be the trial run...

So is there a place where I can buy it and revieve it before christmas?

Maybe extended battery life, but they can't do a trial run because the development kits have already been handed out, no major changes can be made or the games won't work.

Well what Sony's been stating publicly and what industry analysts are saying are two very different things. PJ McNealy and Piper Jaffray & Co. have both stated, as early as last month, that the US PSP launch would most likely be delayed until at least June.

Meanwhile, Piper Jaffray & Co. paints an even gloomier picture for the PSP's launch ambitions. In a report released today, the securities firm expects the handheld "to launch later than the current March 2005 expectation. First, Sony is usually late with most product introductions…and we are hearing that the platform has other issues such as thermal problems (transistors are running very hot) and a very short battery life (90 minutes) that will almost certainly delay the launch." All this points to a November 2005 launch in the US (possibly alongside the next Xbox system), the report concludes.

Also, Activision's CEO, Bobby Kotick, has stated that he doesn't feel it will launch until 2nd quarter 2005.

Some of the delay forecasts have been based on a Japanese release delay but Piper Jaffray's comments above deal with the US release independent of what happens in Japan.

So you can trust Sony all you want, but I personally don't think we'll see a PSP hit US shores until the summer of '05.
The same analysts that said PSP was going to cost $400
Actually he said between $300 and $350.

"I think $500 is aggressive," said P.J. McNealy, an analyst with American Technology Research. "I think it's going to be in the $299-$349 range. Keep in mind that [Sony Computer Entertainment president and CEO Ken] Kutaragi has maintained that they want to break even on the hardware."

McNealy was basing his assumption on Sony wanting to break even on the hardware. At $185, it's a pretty safe bet that's not going to be the case. They are going to be taking a bath on the hardware for a while.
So can anyone tell me where I can buy a PSP and be playing it before Christmas?

I am in Virginia, USA.
Lik-sang?

I normally import from NCSX, but it deosn't appear that they will carry the device.
