Need For Speed Shift

This is the best deal I remember seeing on this game. It was only 33% off during the EA Steam sale.[/QUOTE]

I was hoping it was a console version :( Might want to add that to your title. I guess if you knew what "Impulse" was it wouldn't need to be included, but I'm not much of a PC gamer.

I knew what Impulse was and immediately knew it was for PC. ;)

Impulse is a brand- just like Steam is. I'm glad we have another person educated as to what it is - Impulse is really great - I like them because they are anti-DRM. Too bad you don't play games on the PC, because Stardock, the creators of Impulse create and publish some very unique games.

I read what the Stardock guy said about Steam and as much as I want to support their anti-DRM thing, Steam just has too many good deals which at many times seems overdone.

I have nfs shift for ps3 and i even have a g27 wheel. This game is horrible. Do not buy. If you are on ps3 play dirt 2 and wait on gt5. If you are on pc, you are better off with liveforspeed or the iracing.com mmo (if you are into mmo's).

Hey Publik, I like shift for the 360 with a gamepad. do you think the issue is how they programmed for the g27 wheel (I also own this). Or did you just not like the game?

I guess it could be the wheel. I didn't like the turning which felt like oversensitive bumper cars if that makes sense. Even though the cockpit view was pretty, I played from bumper b/c I have a small monitor (27 inches). So I couldn't really admire the art direction. As a sim, I thought it was more arcadey than forza/gt but I do like that EA is taking the genre seriously.

I wonder what EA is going to do in the future with this francise. I would like for them to use this project as a stepping stone and continue to work within the sim genre so we'll see.

I picked up NFS: SHIFT and I REALLY like it so far. I've got Grid and Dirt 2. SHIFT is a lot easier to pick up than Grid, I find, cos it tests you driving skills, then tells you a good difficulty to play at, plus you level up and can customize your cars.

All in all the best pc racer I've played in quite a wile
