enjoying the medication or are you taking it like a man?
Hell yes I'm taking the meds. Though I have to admit, hydrocodone isn't nearly as strong as it had been made out to be by everyone I mentioned it to.
there are a bunch of different kinds of hydros
Yeah, I think many of the people I talked to were mistaking it for codiene and not codone.

glad to see another success story....as said plenty of times, i'm still waiting to get mine done....i had a consultation or whatever about 2 months ago and was told to call whenever i was ready to have it done, but it would be nearly a month-long wait from the day i called...so i called a week ago and the doctor who was supposed to do it doesn't work there any more....i just better not have to pay for another consultation

anyways....did anyones ears hurt really bad while their wisdom teeth were in? mine hurt and if i open my mouth wide enough, they pop a little....i think my wisdom teeth are pretty fucking long.....another thing, when i put my fingers in my ears and than open my mouth, i can feel my earholes squeezing shut and hard on my fingers...i dont know if this is odd or if it's normal and something that ive never thought about doing until this....yeah, i know...i'm weird

I'm having a similar problem with the two wisdom teeth they left in, to replace the impacted molars they had to remove. I have alot of pressure in my ears and I have a similar popping in my ear. I'm pretty sure I'll need them removed at some point (they are not coming in properly). I recommend having a talk with your dentist, have them take some xrays of your wisdom teeth and see if they need to be removed. Make sure you tell your dentist the issues you are having.

I remember slight discomfort in my ears, like the discomfort in a change in pressure when flying. I had my top two out 7 or 8 years ago. The roots were so long the oral surgeon said the roots were all the way up into the sinus cavity. I only had local anesthetic for the surgery. Big mistake. Get knocked out. It sucked watching the surgeon trying to get a good foothold as he ripped my teeth out (piece by piece) with tools that looked like nothing more than a pair of visegrips. Hearing your teeth break off inside of your skull has to be the worst sound I've ever heard. So, yeah, if you get a choice get knocked out for the whole thing.

Then there was the pain afterwards. I had back surgery a year before the wisdom teeth thing. And believe me I would have gone through a dozen back surgeries if it meant not getting my other two wisdom teeth out (which I've been told have deeper roots than the top did, which is why I haven't and won't have them removed). It felt like I got hit in the face with a baseball bat -- aluminum -- and swung by the biggest steroid jacked creatine filled MLB All-Star out there.

After that, I spit out blood and clots for a couple weeks, and wished I was dead more than a few times. Once the gaping holes fill in, and my mouth got used to the new countours, it wasn't so bad. And hey, at least I got some Vicodin out of the deal.

It all depends on the patient and the surgeon. Some people have short roots, and they can be moved with little to no trouble at all.

Okay, got my pulled like 8:30 A.M. today. My dentist did it since she said something like she could do it and I don't need the ortho-whatever to do it. I'm happy about this of course.

Well today I found out that I have a reaction to whatever the numbing agent is, if I get too much. It's not as much as you think though. It's the numbing thing for doing cavities. My body started to shake by itself. I though it was the temp since it was kinda chilly. They bring a blanket. Then I thought it was because I was nervous. Later, we figured out it was a side effect that many people get. I mean, I was a tiny bit nervous but not that nervous. I was more scared about after the removal.

I got some painkillers and I'm glad I have them. Their kinda strong. The thing says to take 1 every 4 hours but my dentist said a half should do, and she's right. Though, if I do take one, it's like nothing's wrong with my mouth.....but I won't fall for that!!

Still, I have to go next week to take the sutures out, which should be nothing. I was lucky my wisdom tooth grew really good. The process was alright and better than I thought. I just need to survive for the week, which sucks because my grandma, aunt, and cousing are coming from Taiwan Wed. and this could be the last time my grandma can come here because of her age *sniff*.

But you know who's really lucky?!?!? My dad! He has no wisdom teeth....none!!!

Edit: I'm hungry.

Well I got it pulled. They didnt knock me out, just 2 doses of anesthetics. My eyes were open all that time. Wasn't really painful during the process, but damn it seems like the dentist used a lot of force to break the tooth apart so it can be extracted. Right now I still have the anesthetics on so the pain is quite minimal, but I got extra strength Tylenol on my side.

My were just pulled out. The pain is pretty much gone now as I don't have to take painkillers. Can't wait to take the suture out. However, I think I'm coming down with a fever. Might have to take cold medicine soon to get better.

Babies.

I had my impacted wisdom teeth pulled out with no laughing gas, and I was fine later that night.

Then again, us Russians are built with strength and vigor.

who said i was getting any gas or novacaine for that matter?

though i am getting both, but im not getting put to sleep

anyways...why do they say not to eat anything 4 hours before surgery?

because you throw up like crazy. My mom still gives my dad shit for breaking that rule and making a complete mess everywhere during surgery

i haven't read the whole thread so excuse if this is repeat advice.

1. Don't walk out of there with anything less than Lortab 10s (10mg)...just say NO to xtra strength tylenol.
2. Take as little as possible during recovery. You should save that shit to take when you can have a good time with it.

i had a bunch of snot come up when i was getting my wisdom teeth pulled. i was choking on that shiet.

Awful.

And you should follow it up with an "all Russians have bad teeth" joke.
Awful.

That's the English, not the Russians.

My top left wisdom has grown in and has plenty of room; no need to remove it. (It's been there for two years now...) I can now feel the one on the top right coming in...odd that it would take this long for that one. Hopefully, I won't need it removed.

its now 16 minutes until the 4 hour mark...so i have 16 minutes to scarf down this foot long sub i just bought from Sheetz, then i cant eat until after i get back...which im told i wont want to eat, but thats bullshit

what is up with doctors saying o just take Tylenol... you should freaking out hit the doctor with a steel pipe and say umm just take tylenol for that pain
...i hope they're better tonight so i can go to work early tomorrow morning
Whoa, whoa, whoa. You better get some rest. You're talkin' crazy-talk.
Hope you feel better soon.
thanks...i have a huge fucking headache right now and the gauge is just completely uncomfortable...im tired, but cant sleep because of the gauge...the bleeding wont stop...im wondering what harm it would do if i kept the gauge out while i sleep
done...goddamn my cheeks are swollen...i hope they're better tonight so i can go to work early tomorrow morning
ICE ICE ICE! Well for the first 2 days, on and off every 20 to 30 min. Well that is what I did, and my face didn't swell up. Then again I only bled during the first day and didn't need to take any pain medication after that. So now I have an almost full bottle of vicodin. I should have just saved my 11 bucks. @.@;

yeah, i applied ice for the first 2 hours...took 2 codienes and 1 perkaset (spellcheck on all of that shit)...the pain isnt there any more, but i do have a minor headache...ill just have to stick on the medicine for a few days...i had 5 teeth removed and a big chunk of scar tissue cut out that was right behind one of my wisdom teeth...they thought it was a cyst at first, luckily it wasn't....they told me because of how hard it was to get my teeth out (all of my roots were pointing in different directions), that if i get punched in the face, my jaw will probably break...that's good news

btw, i look kinda like a white kanye west right now
Well get better soon, and try not to get punched in the face. ;P
i'll try, i just woke up an hour or so ago to take more medicine....just five minutes ago i threw up some chicken soup...yummmm

And I'm sure President Bush doesn't care about your wisdom teeth.
