IN THE MARKET FOR AN JOYSTICK

xenoman80

CAGiversary!
i want to buy a universal joystick for fighting games or at least a ps2 one compatible with the dragoncube . i have alot of fighting games for my systems anyone can recommend a good one. cheap one if u got one

if you want cheap, buy those pelican universal ones from gamestop/babbages. i think they go for around 50. they're not too bad for what they cost, and they're even better if you buy some better buttons and put those in.

if you want something REALLY good though, you might wanna think of spending around 90-100...

then recommend on i want a good one it would be nice if you guys know where i want get one cheap but i wouldnt mind paying more for the best one
then recommend on
He did reccomend one. The Pelican Universals are very nice for the price. Mine will be arriving on my doorstep on the 3rd.

if you wanna spend more, maybe look at a mas stick... go to massystems.com. you're looking at double the price of that pelican though, and i wouldn't really recommend it if you're just a casual fighting gamer. i play competitively, but as a cheap ass gamer, even i think 100 is a fucking lot for a joystick.

i got mine custom built, but it cost me 100.

waiting for sf anv for xbox.xbox live also i had those games when i was younger but i had a fire in my apartment and i lost everythin had alot more games but didnt addthem to my collection cause i dont have um shit i lost everything i have a way bigger collection though

lol alpha 3 still rockks though whens sf 4 cumin out out its been so long ii also heard sammy vs. capcom is it true??????

sf4 will probably never come out. and yes, sammy vs. capcom has been somewhat announced, but don't expect it anytime soon. capcom's still got it's new baby in capcom fighting evolution.

Best US-style stick: MAS $100
Best JP-style stick: Hori Real Arcade $80 (for PS2)
Decent mid-priced JP-style stick: $50 (you may be able to find it for as low as $35 though)

I personally can't stand US-style sticks, MAS included, but it's up to you. Dunno if they work on that Dragoncube or whatever. You can also go for custom sticks; there's some folks at Shoryuken.com who offer sticks for $100 and they're supposedly good.
sammy vs capcom??!!!

hmm..sounds like it'll be awesome :D
the reason we have not heard anything on this game, is CAPCOM is still too lazy to redraw its sprites.

Anyone have the Hori SCII stick, or the SVC Chaos stick? I like the CAPCOM vs. SNK DC stick I have, and the SVC Chaos stick looks very similar. Just wondering if it is worth the 50 plus shipping

X-arcade parts are ass. The joysticks use leaf switches seem to act sluggish unless you try to manually tweak them. Not to mention the buttons are odd sized, so you can't just replace them with regular happ, lorenzo, or sanwa buttons if you are using an X-arcade stick. Just get the parts and do a custom joystick. You will come out a lot cheaper.

u make it sound so easy lol how bout u build me one and ill give yu the money needed for supply's hows that sound ???

Do you have a drill? Do you have 40 bucks for a quality joystick and buttons? If you have a PS2 dual shock, you can use the same PCB with the ribbon hack, no soldering required and will work with ALL adapters. I can link you to any diagrams you could possibly want, or I could even build it for you.

You know you can substitute and buttons and sticks at MAS right? I think the "Competition Stick" has a ball-top instead of a teardrop-top.

will it work lik the ones in the arcade cause i lv playin verus games and when i do specials i like to mash the buttons to get extra hits will it be strong enough to take a beating?

Yes I know they allow customization and no, competition (and ultimate and their third design) does NOT have the ball-top nor have the short lever of a JP stick.

You can buy Happ (US) or Sanwa (JP) sticks and buttons, which are exactly what real arcades use. As long as you have a sturdy frame and heavy weight, the stick should offer arcade quality goodness.
what u mean sturdy frame and heavy weight u mean a table or sumthin to put the joystick on??
No, he means use something strong (so it won't be prone to breaking) and heavy (so the stick will stay in place as you jostle it about). Go to massystems.com for examples on what he means by sturdy frame.
so waz up can sum 1 make it 4 me jus give me a price
just get that Pelican Real Arcade joystick & replace the stick & buttons

so ill buy the pelican but where do i get the best parts from and like i said do i have mess with stuff in the inside or like melting this wire and that wire into place???
