By best, I mean most fun.

I would have to say Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II. It's too damn addicting, especially if you can get online. A close second would be Super Smash Bros. Melee. Both of these games are excellent!

Metroid Prime for me

a close second is Beyond Good and Evil, but thats multiplatform.

Of course I still have yet to play many games like Pikmin and SSBM or finish Wind Waker.

There is no 1 best if you ask me.

I have Mario Sunshine, Pikmin, Luigi's mansion, Zelda wind waker, Resident Evil. And I think they are all A titles.

There's been so many exclusive GCN titles that have been great, but if I had to choose one - Viewtiful Joe 8)

Mario Kart Double Dash, damn my friends and I can't get enough of this great game, I thought they were just going to upgrade the graphics from the 64 version, but the added game mechanics makes it more addictive.

Resident Evil on the Cube rocks. Others that I like: Eternal Darkness, Zelda: WW, MK:DD, and Splinter Cell (even though it is multi).

Animal Crossing has gotten the most overall play of my games, mostly because it never ends. Though my need to play everyday has subsided over a year later. I can't argue with most of the other picks so far, Super Monkey Ball 2 is the best 3rd party game I've played so far though.

I'm gonna need to get Viewtiful Joe now, that's one of the titles I haven't gotten around to. I'm surprised people think it's the best game on the system.

There really have been a lot of great titles. It's so hard to choose just one. I thought Eternal Darkness, Animal Crossing, and Windwaker were all really awesome games. I like all my Cube games though! :)

Super Smash Bros. Mele & Mario Kart are both fun to play either on your own or with others

However, for the money that $10 Wario World has been most entertaining.

Have a rotten dayyyy!!!!!

It's a toss up between Metroid Prime and Super Monkey Ball for me. I have finished Super Metroid probably over 100 times and to see it all get translated into 3d and feel like a Metroid game simply blew me away - awesome. SUper Monkey ball is on my list because I still play it and I got it at launch. I am trying to get 9999 PPs and it is making me crazy - I'm at 8945 though... getting closer... so addictive...

Viewtifful Joe, Wario World, Zelda, Beyond Good and Evil, Those were all great.

I never got a chance to get into MP though so its on my wanted list again.

Pikmin. It is not only my favorite GC game, it is my favorite game this generation. I've played through about 6 times and each time has been a different experience. Sometimes, I'll play for speed, other times to raise the most pikmin or to not get any killed.

This is the game when I lose my faith in modern gaming, I play it to get restored.

Super Smash Bros. Melee. I just love games with virtually unlimited replay value, and unlimited 4-player replay value helps make this game one of the best ever made. Honorable mentions to Rogue Squadron II, Viewtiful Joe, F-Zero GX, and Pikmin.

I'm still searching for one. I've played Mario Sunshine, Zelda: WW, Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, F-Zero GX, Metroid Prime... and I must be honest, I have yet to be blown away. The aforementioned are good but not stellar. I'm still waiting to be truly impressed rather than just satisfied with my purchase.

In that case, check out Phantasy Star Online. Once you play, it will change your perspective on videogames forever...not necessarily in a good way.

I totally agree with you. I pretty much got a GameCube just to play that game, and in terms of gaming, it was something completely different. Pikmin is my current favorite, though I have a huge queue of games to go through still. My honorable mention goes to SSBM (awesome party game).
