Indigo GameCubes at Target 69.99 on 6-15

Starting tomorrow, Target is going to have a temporary price cut of all Indigo colored Gamecubes for 69.99. Also, the Zelda Collection Gamecube bundles will be going 69.99 as well
I called target in montclair,ca, gave them the upc, they said 99.99
Same here

Oh well, guess i'll just have to wait :)

A lady at a target near my house refused to give me a raincheck saying that it's not a sale item even after she scanned my UPC copy which came up 69.99. It sucks.

Yeah, I had that same problem - it's a temporary price cut, so they're not supposed to give out rain checks. Some of them will because they don't know, but you'd have to get really lucky :D

So about this Circuit city deal... when was this?
I'm not sure. The guy never responded. :?
I duno if the anyone answered this since I didn't finish reading the thread. I think he is talking about the deal after xmas when circuit city was selling a GC and your choice of NFL Street or Madden 2004 (both $50 at the time) and a $10 GC. That technically makes the GC only $40 but you are obligated to buy a game with it.

hey sj41, I also live near Dallas,TX. I live in plano.

I did see a few GC's at my target the last time I checked for $69.99. They also had a price tag for the Zelda bundle but I didn't see any.

Well, price drops aren't sale items... hard to get pissed at a person when they are right, unless you are a selfish moron.

Just yesterday, I was able to get a raincheck for an Indigo Gamecube for $69.99. Now I just have to find a Target that still has the Halo Xbox bundle. I already have an Indigo GameCube, a Platinum GameCube, and a regular Xbox, so I just need to get the green Xbox. All of the Targets near (and not so near) me don't have it any more, though. And I doubt they would get any more :(.

This is NOT a price drop. Please do not confuse people. Nintendo does not plan on dropping the gamecube to 69.99

Does anyone know if the GBA SP will get a price drop from Nintendo? I want one but can't find a good deal.

hey JSweeney, I hope you didn't interpret my saying "It sucks" into saying that lady sucks or am pissed at her. Calling me "a moron" because you thought that I did would make you a dumbass.

Target does tempory price drops fairly often as a matter of practice.
It's one of the things people come in here and bitch about all the time.

Notice, I didn't call you a moron.
I said: Well, price drops aren't sale items... hard to get pissed at a person when they are right, unless you are a selfish moron.

There wasn't any pointed accusation.. I just stated a generality, as without knowing the exact situations you were in, it would be rather foolhearty to state an absolute. Absolutes are incorrect most of the time, anyways.

Any offense you took from that would be directly related to how germane you thought it was to you... just as your latest comment doesn't offend me in the least, because it's not germane in the least.

Man, JSweeney, you need to learn to just walk away sometimes. All you are doing is filling this thread with your useless lectures.

People want deals, not arguments...

Well, yeah...
But I don't want arguments either. The reason I continue these things is to try to reach some sort of mutually agreable solution. There's no reason to try and foster some sort of festering resentment, so if there are posts where someone is still obviously irate with me, I try to talk the issue through. I could drop it, but that still leaves the chance of having someone still angry. That's just not good for the environment here... there's no reason to foster discention unless it's actually called for.

I'm in here because I want what most other people want when they join this website. That's why I didn't want to reply to you earlier , but I guess you just want to gain more post so you do not want to let the matter ends. This will be my last reply regarding this matter.

It is amusing how you explained your writing. To make it short here, why don't you think the same way when reading my post to you. The thing is, had you only pointed out the difference between sale items and price drops it would have been different. It'd have been appreciated. For a person who has more than 2000 posts I wonder how many of them was really helpful.

To judge by the insinuation, I don't. That couldn't be further from the truth. I try to watch what the reactions to the actions taken by board members would have on the environment. If that weren't needed, I'd happily not bother... but since in the past CheapyD has lost affiliates thanks to a few (the vast minority) members of the board an thier actions.
I like this board enough that I'm willing to take the unpopular position of telling people they are wrong, and that some of the deals they espouse just aren't valid.

That's why I didn't want to reply to you earlier , but I guess you just want to gain more post so you do not want to let the matter ends.

No, I didn't want the matter to end on the note it did. I don't care for festering problems or hurt feelings. If by continuing a thread I can try to resolve some of those issues, I'll continue to post in a thread.
That's just the way I work. I have a much higher threshold for when a thread should be chalked up as a lost cause than most.

I love this line. It's so akin to "I'm taking my ball and going home."

Context and historical reference.

The thing is, had you only pointed out the difference between sale items and price drops it would have been different.

Yes, but that selfsame issue has already been discussed ad nausem around here. Being here since Feb. I'd assume you'd have run across one of the many of them.

It'd have been appreciated.

Hindsight is 20/20. I doubt that even if I just said that that someone would still take issue.

For a person who has more than 2000 posts I wonder how many of them was really helpful.

I guess you don't want to end this on good terms. Oh well.

let's get this straight...

rainchecks are NOT for temporary price cuts, because target does not advertise these things. the idea behind a raincheck is that you see something in the ad and you come in the store because you intend to buy it and if it's not there, you're unsatisfied.

if you get one, consider yourself lucky, because your target has dumb electronics employees. just don't go in expecting one when you find out about temporary price cuts here on cheapassgamer or other message boards. i work in the electronics dept. at target, and i happily honor the substitute clause on the raincheck, if it's valid. i TELL people about the substitute clause. hell, i've argued with a manager before on the issue in favor of the customer. i point out all the good clearance games (or at least the ones i haven't picked up yet). the thing that pisses me off though is when someone gets pissed because they can't get a raincheck for a temporary price cut. you can't go to a girl and say "hey, i heard you were giving out blowjobs" and get pissed when she doesn't give you one, because she never promised you one in the first place. get it?

just wanted to clarify.
