Hey CAGs,

Hopefully you guys can help me out. Here are my specs that are relevant:

8800GTX
Asus 680i mobo
Enermax Galaxy 850W Power Supply

My issue:

Ever since I moved from Vista to XP, I keep getting a Nvidia message that my card is receiving insufficient power. Now, I am positive everything is hooked up properly and I have reseated everything numerous time. No other issues with the rig. Someone on gfaqs mentioned that it could be because my 12V are 24A and the card recommends 30A but I am not sure.

Is this definitely a hardware issue or could it be driver related? Any thoughts?

Thanks

Yeah, I have reseated the damn thing like 5 times. :)

Drivercleaned it and reinstall numerous drivers. I am going to trhy again one more time and then start contacting the manufacturers. Anyway I can test to see which component that is having the issue other than swapping them out?

Thanks

I have the same eVGA Video Card and MoBo and a 650 Watt supply. An 850 W power supply sounds like MORE than enough. What I think is happening is that the PS is crapping out and is not putting out the "850" that it claims. Try another PS and see if it fixes your problems.

go to your manufatures website for the card and they should have a BIOS flash for it!!!

I know this was an issue on the EVGA forums and they addressed it by providing a new BIOS for the card.

When is says that, it is the PS for sure, had this happen to a 6800 i was using, just grab a new PS and you won't see that message again. Until of course another PS craps out...
