I have two of those short stroked in raid 0 (each one uses the first 100gigs on the drive for the OS partition) this keeps the common accessed data at the outer edges of the platter where reads are the fastest.

ZZF has them for $65

The 2nd partition should be used for storage or not at all. The goal is that the bulk of the i/o is done on the outer rim of the platters, if you are constantly accessing the other partition(s), it is pointless.
