First of all this is my first post ever, so apologies if something is wrong.

If you are a fan of Bruce Lee then this is a must have. See how good Bruce Lee's master is!!! Love this movie.:applause::applause:

Agreed, this looks great and I'd love to get it. Handsome, please explain why the UK gets all the great Blus for Asian films?
 
Just a word of caution to anyone that considers buying this. According to reviews of the UK and Hong Kong versions of this film on www.blu-ray.com, the UK version suffers from a slightly washed out picture. Also, the extras are encoded in the PAL format, and won't play on a US Blu-Ray player. Here are the reviews:

does the HK version play on US ps3's? cause yesasia has it for 33 and i love the film and will totally pay 33 for it

HK Blu Ray is the same region as US
 
I have HK Blu-Ray for Ip Man (awesome movie) and it looks and sounds great. Got mine from Yesasia when they had a sale. I can't wait for the sequel which also stars Sammo Hung!
 
I agree, Ip Man is freakin sweet! I hope we get a US release when the sequel comes out. I've heard good things about Warlords too.

i think i will be getting the other 3 you recommended. 22$ is more than i pay for movies (but 11$ is right up my range). plus it sounds like the UK version isnt fully compatible.

i never cared about UK vs US releases. as long as it works, i can always import.


im assuming those 3 are compatible w/ US 100%?


any other recommendations? amazon suggests Ichi and the Myth

edit: seems Empress & the warrior is region B only. and Warlords is 16 minutes shorter than the HK cut (plus supposedly a very slow & dull movie).
 
Ichi - Only if it is $15 or less. The actions isn't all that great and neither is the cinematography.

Same goes for The Myth.

After you watch some HK action or some Tony Jaa stuff these other asian movies will be a big let down if you are looking for great story/action.
 
I too have the HK version of Ip Man, which I received back in October. I have since seen it 13 times.

I also have imported HK versions of The Warlords (awesome flick) and The Empress and the Warriors.

Super stoked for Ip Man 2.
