Ipod speakers?

Gentlemen --

Can anyone give me some suggestions for good Ipod speakers? I know JBL and Bose (I think) make some, but I was wondering whether anyone had some good insights into quality/value/etc. I am looking for a present for my girlfriend and thought this might be a good idea.

I definately recommend just about any other speaker set out there.

Seriously, you'll save yourself a lot of money by not going the all IPod route...
