Is anyone else irritated when you see CAG work on SD?!

I emailed the target clearance poster and he posted a link back to the CAG thread. Don't know what else we can really hope for.

In all fairness. I can name multiple people from here who constantly rip off of CAG and never credit anyone.. and they do it on a daily basis too.. or they rip off of other sites and post it here..

And no one goes after them...

I happen to like and use both sites. In most cases, SD doesn't give credit to CAG, but CAG gives credit to SD most of the time. Still, it's not much to work yourself over about

Photograph hosting sites are plentiful and free to use so he had no excuse. Plus I doubt he gave you credit, so he gets negative sympathy from me.
 
I honestly don't like anything from CAG going to SD or any other deals sites... CAG hoarders may be bad but the fuckers on SD, FW, etc. are complete pieces of shit, they'll buy up anything and everything just to resell on eBay.

I posted something on here that I got from SD, crediting them, and it was edited to leave out the line 'stolen from SD'. I assume by a mod; certainly wasn't me.

It all boils down to respect. If someone takes something you found/discovered and tries to pass it off as their own, wouldn't you be a little miffed?

Wasn't me. The only time I edit something of that sort is if SD's affiliate link is attached to any URLs.
 
I don't really care, but give credit where it's due. And while the OP has a right to annoyed, did he really need to argue back and forth for two pages.
 
As shitty as it maybe, the only thing that pisses me off is not giving credit where credit is due.

Unfortunately though, there is a lot of deal snagging and copying/pasting done by both CAG and SD, so it's not like this was going to happen.
 
Gamers are not the only Cheapasses out there. If SD didn't take it, fatwallet would. Or Billy Bob's Blog of Bargain Blowouts. Or a housewives association with CAG printouts 'working from home' by flipping 'those damn games Junior's always playing instead of getting a law degree at age 13 and supporting my frivilous lifestyle'.

That's the internet. If it really bugs the original poster,they type it in Paint and post it as an image with copy/hotlink protection... then at least you know any grabbers had to re-type the whole thing.

Let me clarify, I think many of you are misinterpreting my use of the word "irritating".
In my OP, I stated this wasn't a big deal, just irritating, like people who cut you off while driving or don't use a turn signal. Mildly irritating. It's an annoyance but not the end of the world because in the end there's very little we can do to stop it.
That said, I do feel bad for Friend of Sonic because he puts alot of effort into the Target Clearance Thread for CAG.
No one likes to have someone else take credit for their efforts.
I think a little perspective is needed here, of course, that's something sorely lacking these days.

You got to realize thats a very bad example seeing how many of us actually has road rage and many others have really bad road rage too. And the way some people put a stop to it is taking out a shotgun or running them off the road, so doesnt really apply. I mean i get fucking pissed as hell if someone cuts me off and i speed up and cut them off them slam on the breaks to and give them the finger and drive off. i also sometimes toss my drink out the window at them and drive off. bad example if you ask me @_@ that or im insane
 
The big issue in my opinion is a CAG did a lot of work to organize and gather all of the information about the Target Clearance and for someone to steal it (meaning copying and pasting it w/o giving credit) is frustrating. It is like writing a paper and then someone taking it, changing a few words and claiming it is theirs. That is not cool.

As I mentioned in the SD thread....Plagiarism in it's most basic form.

The best part is Kid actually replied recently (this morning) saying everyone should get off his nuts. He says now he credits CAG for the findings, but refuses to credit everyone that contributed because it would take forever to find out which member gave which DCPI number. Alas, he still won't recognize Sonic, and again, surprising to me, people want Sonic's blood there o_O

Some of my posts and others were deleted shortly after folks started calling him out for copying and pasting from CAG. I'm going to bet they'll eventually delete your posts too.
Personally, I think kidu should get an IP ban. He wants to help SD so much? Let him, on much more permanant basis. Perhaps that's just the Dark Side coming out of me. :lol:

Anyway, I think we should just let the issue die on the main Target thread (here and on SD). There's really no point in taking the main thread off topic or continually bumping up the SD thread. Like everybody has said, this is the internet where everybody needs to have information handed to them on a plate. This isn't school or work where we can get in trouble for taking someone else's work as our own. And unfortunately, each and every person on the internet has a different idea of morality and ethics. So we either stop complaining on the main threads and let that SD thread disappear or we continue to bitch to no avail and affirm to people that CAGs are crybabies.
 
I wasn't gonna say anything else about this issue, but the douche bag posted something on SD (mentioned in the Target clearance thread) about how the DCPI numbers and prices are readily available, so no one should be complaining. If they are so readily available, then why didn't you go compile them yourself? Oh, that's because someone else did all the work, so you just stole them, instead.

They tried buying up guides with a list that was compiled by more than a few CAG's during one of the guide drops last year sometime(I believe). I just happened to sign into my SD or FW account around that time and I saw the list.

I admit, I was a little bit pissed since they had just out and out cut and pasted the list, but I was laughing my balls off once more than a few of the hoarding idiots figured out that the guides aren't worth dick because Ebay gets flooded just after a drop.

So much for them making a quick buck on items they got for a penny and largely ended up stuck with. :lol:

As for me, when I have cut/pasted/'stolen' a deal from either SD or FW, I do say I 'blatantly stole it from SD/FW' without giving credit to the original poster there.

I figure they do it enough to us, so a little payback is due.

I don't get as pissed off as you guys about it, but it is a bit annoying when SD gets it. They are retarded, ebay gets flooded with the stuff and they drive the prices down trying to sell quick.

That's exactly what I said. The shmucks at SD/FW grab everything and then try and race to post it on Ebay and hurt themselves and others in the process since they flood the market.

That's why I prefer to just trade whatever I buy for stuff I want on here. I don't have to deal with fees and angry buyers pissed off because you didn't describe the items down to the smallest detail. You still get the collectors and what not on CAG, but it's not quite AS bad.

I really should start selling on there then, since my TL has alot of stuff no one really has showed any interest in.

Although, I doubt anyone on Ebay would want my stacks and stacks of 90's era comics, since there's ZERO collectibility factor to them because they were WAYYYY overprinted.

What's with people making these "theorized" comments. To be frank, I've never plaigarized, at least not in the sense that I blaintly stole someone's work right freom them.

And to be honest, I don't see myself as being childish, at least not in any direct aspect or similarity to the majority in that thread.

In other words, I suggest to you, to let it go sir.
