Is Demon Souls getting restocked in Canada as well?

depend where you live
the game has never been available in Quebec province because of french law, except for a couple of lucky ones that pre-ordered it (like me)

not sure if I should open the game... looks like one of those rare game that should get value over time

Oh man, I hear you! I'm also one of the lucky quebecers who pre-ordered (the now eternally discontinued Deluxe Edition, too!).

Do yourself a favor and play this gem. It's awesome!

Amazon.ca also did a re-stock and sold out. I would keep checking with them...you might get lucky....... during the re-stock they actually had one Deluxe Edition available which sold out in like 10 mins.

I can assure you whatever 'value' it gains over time is pittance compared to the amount of gameplay that the game can provide.

And no, I'm not exaggerating.

And Atlus will probably keep the after market value of the game in check via reprints of the game anyway.
no, I am just looking for a regular edition, and don't want to pay 69 for it.
$56.99USD. That's the best you'll do. Get it through Goomba, it'll be $57 + $4 + $2 + $2 = 65USD, shipped to your door.

If you want to wait a month or two, or potentially never get the game: http://www.buynextgen.com/bngstore/products/Demon-s-Souls/960.aspx

I received Valkyria Chronicles from these guys no problem, but they tend to be slow on shipping...extremely slow.

Sorry, but you're probably not going to be getting a copy anytime soon. $69 is the price everywhere for the reg. edition, and in many cases on craigslist, kijijii and ebay they are fetching close to $100. Hell, the strategy guide alone from the deluxe edition is selling for over $30.

On occasion one or two will pop up for sale online at BB or FS but they're usually gone within minutes.

Honestly, the game is worth every penny of the $69 price tag.

This.

I am so opposed to paying $70 for games these days but Apollo is right, for the massive amount of gameplay and replay value that DS has it's easily worth the price. You're really missing out by waiting for a price drop that will probably never come.

It wouldn't kill you, OP, to call around your local game stores and ask if they have a copy. I say this because I visited a bunch of game stores this weekend and a few of them had both the regular AND limited editions in stock (my city is less than 100k pop). Have you done your homework?!? If you have, it's your fault for not mentioning it.

But if you're going to bother posting about this here, then I take it you don't mind doing internet shopping. At which point I'd say Goomba is your best option.

I saw one get traded in/exchanged (wasn't really paying attention) today at EB Games while I was looking around...it's the one across from Centerpoint mall. Where do you live though, if you're not in Toronto this is going to be useless to you. :whistle2:#

No, I live in ottawa, I called one Ebgames yesterday and he said they are getting more copies by the end of the week, I been mostly looking for a store to trade in NHL 10 and add some cash to it to get Demon souls.

I am on a budget (tiution coming up) that's why I mentioned the 69 price tag. I know it's only $10, but it feels weird paying that much. If I am left no choice I'll just do it.

I would check keep checking with EB, my local store got 2 copies in their shipment this week and didn't know how much more they would be getting.

I noticed that it is the #1 selling video game at amazon.ca. That is pretty impressive for a game which is considred an obscure title with zero spent on marketing. If I wasn't so scared of the difficulty, I'd try it out.

Honestly, I hate RPGs. Always have. This game, cruel and unforgiving as it can be at times has me coming back for more like a smack addicted orphan.

The biggest thing for me was the adjustment to 'realistic' play. For example, if you were actually heading down a dark corridor, you wouldn't run haphazardly -- you creep, fearing every step you take could result in your untimely demise. Paranoid that the next thing you encounter around that cornder will take you out in one swift hit. It's a thing of beauty.

I just found a place where there were plenty of Deluxe Edition for 79.99 so my normal copy might be for sale ( I haven't opened it yet )

In the end this game is actually fairly easy, the challenge comes from learning patterns and playing intelligently, something that most games are too forgiving with nowadays. I think a big part of the appeal of DS is that it's a nostalgia trip of sorts for us older gamers who were raised on 8-bit and 16-bit games.

I have a sealed DE version of this game, im not really sure if I should open it as im kinda tempted to keep it sealed and try to find a regular version if possible.
