Is Gamefly worth it? (need advice quick)

Gamefly will bill me in about 2 hours, so I need advice quick.

Right now I'm signed up for the 2-at-a-time plan.

Does anybody use it and think it's a good deal?

I liked it because I get to play alot of games "for free" but I know that's BS, it's not free, it's $22.95 a month + tax.

Just gives the false illusion of value when it's really a ripoff.

I need opinions to make my decision, got 2 hours.

Thanks.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Nooooooooooooooo.

The day I left Gamefly was a good day. Got tired of five day turnarounds, never getting what I want, etc.

It's gotten faster for me now that they are finally sending them from Seattle rather than L.A. They told me the other way was faster when I asked. Seattle is closer so it's not, they are idiots. Outside of that, I haven't had too many issues. Saves me a lot of money on games. Played a lot more than I would have and spent a fraction doing it.

The turn around and availability of the games for me just stinks... I rocked it for a month for 1$ soon as my month came up i canceled again... will jump on next month at discounted price too..

Takes 2 days from a shipped notification to get my games in even though I live 3-5 hours from the distribution center (Austin). Other than taking weeks to finally ship Asura's Wrath because it was low stock forever, it was worth it for two months for $1 to try out several games that I wanted and were on the fence on purchasing.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I cancelled.

It just didn't feel like a good deal, and I'm not happy waiting days/weeks for stuff to arrive.

Figure I can spend less just buying/selling on the secondary market.

Thank you again, feel free to continue posting your opinions for future visitors.

I've had 2 friends subscribe to Gamefly. Both loved it and swore by it in the beginning, both cancelled their subscription within 9 months.

Lots of frustrations about not getting any of the games they wanted was their biggest complaint.

Ditto... this is my second attempt and they have not improved one bit. Everything i would possibly want to rent is low or very low availability. I have yet to receive a game in my top 5 once. Its much better to scope out deals and buy what u want when its cheap enough. Otherwise demos and reviews are more dependable than gf. Their sales are sick sometimes so ill definitely buy from them still, but the rental service is simply sub-par. In my opinion at least.
