I have been having trouble with my internet connection the past couple of days so today I reset everything and started over to see if that would help. When I tried to connect my 360 back to my wireless network it was having trouble resolving the "DNS Server Address" and I would have to enter it manually. So when I was troubleshooting the problem I discoveed that I only had one "DNS Server Address" listed and did not have a secondary one. I have Verizon DSL as my internet provider if that matters at all.

Thanks,

p.s.
I know this is a stupid question but it been bothering me all evening.

I normally lease two DNS servers incase one does go down...which is pretty rare. It has happened to me a few times when I was still using comcast's dns but now I just run 4.2.2.2, 4.2.2.3 and haven't had an issue.

Just because you get a DNS server request failed message doesn't mean its a DNS issue. It just means the request for a DNS name lookup has failed. 90% of the time its a communication issue between you and your gateway/modem/router/isp etc not the dns server.
