Is it worth selling my Wii on Ebay and if yes... then when?

CAGiversary!
I might sell my wii on ebay in the coming days due to the high demand for it.

Im htinking people will play top dollar. So I was wondering when would be the best time to sell.

Also how much could I get for an average wii during this time of year?
also... is it worth it?

I checked the ending soonest on ebay, looks like used Wiis with no extra games is going for about $250, which is retail for new.
Just keep checking that every few days to see if there are any price jumps.

How much you can get all depends on how severe the Wii shortage will be.

i'd assume you could get quite a bit, considering nintendo said themselves they won't make numbers this holiday by 42%.

They are averaging $350 used. I would probably wait until the first or second week of December. The closer to Christmas you get, the more desperate ppl will be to find a Wii. The price will probably skyrocket.

I heard these will be readily available this Friday and will continue to be after that.

Will be interesting to see if this comes true or not.

Your best bet is to buy a new one if you see it and then ebay it in December. A new system will go for a lot more than a used system.

I picked up two Wii's two weeks ago for intent of selling. Never done this before, but always talked about doing it when this generation of systems were being released. I sold my first one on Craigs list, bundled with Wii Play/Remote, Nunchuk, and Mario Galaxy for $470. A profit of $150 thanks to deals found on CAG to reduce my costs. If the buyer bought all the individual items in the bundle at full price they would have paid $395 (including tax). So its not like they got hit that hard by markup.

I tried selling it on Ebay had the auction go to $590, but was canceled because of unauthorized bidding... stupid ebayers.

I'm probably just going to put my second one on Craigs List but ask for more money. If I don't get any biters then I will give ebay a try again in a few weeks.

Another good option is craigslist. I sold mine there for about $300 a few months ago and someone offered me $350 after I sold it. I also see people trying to sell them for $350-$400 there all the time.

Just hang on for as long as you can. I would say that you should have the eBay auction end during the second week of December which would leave enough time to ship and have it received before christmas. Make the listing period as long as you can and start at .99 cents. It will come up on the lowest price and make bidders very excited. The price should skyrocket on ebay if you follow these suggestions.

I have a feeling this is going to be partially true... A while back Nintendo made claim to producing over 1 million a month. yet they have been selling less than that a month. The extras are going somewhere, and I believe its black Friday when we will see a flood.

Now the question is will the flood overcome the newfound demand again? I am thinking not, but I still don't think it will spike as big as last year.

Also I don't see any Wii's going for $350 used, my buddy just sold two and they both went for 315 and 320 this past Sunday new.

Here are a few wii's ending soon on ebay.
As you can see the prices are insane.

P.S I will be selling my wii's shortly.

I may sell my (year-old) system now, then rebuy a new one in februray or something, i don't have time for gaming at school anyway.

Just sold mine on ebay the other day. First time I had it listed I had 0 bids on a 3 day bid. Suprisingly noone wanted a used one.

Then I put it up for a one day bid and I ended up getting $348 for it. Greatest thing is I won it back in July so I didn't pay anything for it.

I sold : Everything that came original packed with the Wii.
HDTV cables
RE 4
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Gamecube controller

Figured I wouldve gotten a lot more for it seeing as some are selling in the upper 5 and 6 hundred dollars. But hey, I cannot complain really though. All I bought out of what I sold was the HDTV cables and the gamecube controller. So ultimately was a nice profit.
