Hey all,

He just bought a phone today with a 2-yr contact plan from Cingular but he wants to cancel it (please don't ask why, long story)and was wondering if he is going to get charged for the termination fee only if it's the first day? I heard sometimes they let you off if you tell them asap or something?

Thanks

This is all up to Cingular. If they have his name on the dotted line (are they dotted anymore?), his fate is in their hands.

you have 30 days to cancel without a termination fee or 3 days to cancel without having to pay any fees for minutes used. Called my friend right now at Cingular.

all wireless companys have a at least a 14 day policy to return to phone and cancel contract. He will probably have to pay the activation fee and thats it. Usually like 35$ bucks

He does not have to pay anything before 3 days...Not even for the minutes used

Thanks a lot guys, maybe you guys can help him with this too? What would be a good reason to why he wants to cancel his contract on the first day? ahaha..

Thanks

The OP didn't want to explain it, so it's not really any of your business.

For all we know, maybe he found a new, better contract instead of his first choice. Something cheaper or more attuned to his needs. It doesn't matter, though, and it shouldn't matter to us.

Actually I am the OP, lol. I was asking, since he doesn't want to mention his personal issue with Cingular, what would be another good excuse to cancel his phone on the first day? Ahaha

Thanks

Oooh whatcha gotta say now :dunce:

 I'm just "horsin" around.

How old is your friend? He may be able to escape the contract if he's under 18 excuse or no excuse.

Wait, we can't even ask why the guy would cancel so quick?
