I've been checking the prices on this 50" plasma for a couple months and finally saw it on Wal-Mart's site for $749.00.

It's currently oos, but is it worth waiting for? A salesman at Best Buy told me he has one and loves it, however, the image quality on the display at BB didn't look good compared to the models. This was the first time I'd seen the set in person and the salesman told me it had the weakest signal in the store, but it was an excellent television.
So, as the title says, is it any good? Thanks for all replies.

The burn ins are no longer an issue, but as far is IR's samsung plasma's are bad at this. I don't recommend a plasma if your gonna do pure gaming, you might wanna check out avsforums.com

I have a Panasonic Plasma, which is a little over 4 years old and it still looks damn good.

My next TV will be a plasma as I prefer the deeper blacks and vibrant colors it produces. Not that LCD's are shit, but honestly some of them do look like it.

Leds are pretty damn close to plasma in terms of replicating the picture quality of a plasma.

tldr: Get a plasma. It's perfectly fine for gaming. Even the N64 looks great on my plasma(using s-video)

I have a Panasonic plasma and love it. I use it for gaming and watching sports and it does wonders for both.

What these 2 say are only based from experience... it's not about the brand, again look up the model numbers on the avs threads

It's singular.

And while it's definitely good advice to go there and research, be prepared to have your mind melt as an overload of information has you second guessing every brand, model and method (lcd vs plasma vs led) of TV. ;)
