Is Suikoden III worth $30 New?

I had seen it for about $20 last year but since then apparently the game has gained some value and become a little more scarce...$30 isn't so bad for a great game...$150 is...

But I like suikoden 3....granted it was my first suikoden game. I think also that the value has gone up so that probably would be a good price for the game.

definetely worth it, you'll easily pay at least that for a USED copy on Ebay.

Don't listen to the guy ^ there ragging on it, it's a fantastic RPG.

And actually, you should buy all the copies they have of it for $30 if they have more, and sell them sealed on Ebay for a profit. But maybe that's just what I would do in a heart beat.
Just for the bump, Gamecrazy has Suikoden IV for 17.99.
Now that's a whole different story, IV sucks. And is barely worth that price, only to complete the Suikoden collection.

I cannot BELIEVE Konami is doing Suikoden Tactics based on the lame characters of IV.

It is well worth the $30 just for re-sale value alone. Brand new you can easily get double that if you decide to sell.

The game IMO sucked. The only Suikoden I didn't like.
I know this is OT a bit but did they ever print a guide for this game ?
No. The guide got canned prior to release.

Suikoden III can commonly be found at EB/Gamestop for $29.99 new and less than that for a used copy. If you are in no rush to buy it, they just wait.
Suikoden III was part of K-mart's Blue Light Special sale a few times. You might wanna wait for the next one and see if it drops to $14.99.
Good, let's hope one comes up soon. I'm interested in buying it.

I really disliked it. I bought it off of a friend for $15 and it was probably the worst buy I've ever had.

I bought it during the B2G1 Free @ TRU when the game came out. Tried to play through it twice, lost interest 5 hours into it both times. :whistle2:?

But the resale value warrents the $30 price tag so stock up!

Suikoden 4 is in no way worth 17.99. 3 on the other hand is a pretty damn good rpg, and I'd say it's worth 30, especially if you plan on playing it and not just collecting.

Thanks for the thoughts on Suikoden IV. I've watched it get increasinly cheaper as the year goes on, but all the reviews have scared me away. Oh well, I'm sure I can find better uses for my gaming dollar. Maybe Pirates! for the Xbox....

Yeah, I'd say that I'm going to be checking my K-Mart, to see how much I can make on this guy if I find it. I'll pick it up along with Amplitude for $10.

I mean, this one's received the best reviews out of all the Suikoden games. I wonder why some here seem to hate it so much.

In my opinion, IV is a far superior game to III. I actually wish I could take back my time playing that rubbish that tacked on the Suikoden name. The first and the second were gold, classics. The III felt nothing like the old ones, and that trinity sight system just meant the game took three times as long to go through the same non-captivating plot. The only reason I would ever wish this game upon someone was if they planned to resale it for profit.

III is totally worth it for $30. I paid $25 for it used January of last year because I couldn't find any new copies. Of course the store I got it at got two new copies for $20 a few weeks later, damn 7 day return policy. I had already played through on a rental but I loved it enough to buy it anyways. While I have mixed feelings about the repetition caused by the Trinity Sight system doing the Thomas one made it all worth it. The backtracking sucked at times but overall I thought it was a great game.

IV is worth the 20 it costs new now. I got it on release and didn't really feel ripped off. It isn't that polished and seems to be missing a lot of character and story building but it was fun for the most part.

oh come on. III had the MOST captivating story. it had the best characters too. much more character development. the only *slightly* boring parts were the Thomas or whatever his name was at Budehuc castle chapters. and i think those were optional anyway.

and IV was just awkward, to have a silent main character in an RPG with voice actors. the locales were barren, and the story was not quite interesting.
