Is this a defect?

My DS has the L button clicky but the R button is stiff and harder to click but i have only had it a little over a month could it be the R button isn't broken in (haven't played a lot of games using it)

I sort of have the same thing. The two buttons make different sounds. I don't consider it a problem, if that's what you are wondering.

It's not supposed to be like that, if that's what you're asking. Probably you could've damaged it while dropping your DS or spilling soda on it. Try loosening it up with a little water, if that doesn't work, get it repaired if it's bugging you.

Bring yours to a Gamestop or EB and try a few of their used ones and compare.

If it's a fat DS, mine is somewhat like that.

I have the same problem. Doesn't affect gameplay though.

I've had two regular and one Lite DSs, and none of them do that. Nor do any of the GBAs I've had.

Sounds like a defect to me. I'd get it swapped if it bugs you.
