No, it isn't a Sony. It is a Soyo. And, for the record, Soyo is crap.

Being that 95% of people won't bother getting OTA HD signals, they will just use a cable box or sat box, it is fine for them. The rest will want the tuner. And Soyo isn't the best but it is a good tv, definitly better than (white) westinghouse. Check out the Syntax Olevia's for great pricing and high reliability.
 
The olevia's are $500 today after $50 rebate at CompUsa... Also with a $150 instant rebate thats a good price on a great tv... Plus compusa is reliable incase anythinhg goes wrong.
