Is this an official GC?

Sorry no pics but I'll describe it the best I can.

It was brownish gray in color and it looked as though it was supposed to resemble a rock... maybe. It had cracks/crackling all over it. They had the controller on the top so I couldn't see all the the top of it but I did see it had nintendo markings on it.

Any help????

And why would a Metroid GCN look like .. a rock?

And probably not, unless it's a special Japanese version - but nothing really comes to mind through the description.

There's a brown Gamecube which is for developers. I saw it on IGN but I can't find the direct link.
 
I'm almost certain they were actual cracks. It had a texture to it and looked like it was a bit more than a paint job. It was in a glass case so I couldn't get a real good close up look at it. It was at a peddlers mall for $60. When I go back if it's still there I'll snap a few pics of it.
 
I was thinking it sounded cheap if it is a limited edition but it's at a peddlers mall. Lot's of stuff to be found on the cheap there.
