Is this even possible?

I am watching the colbert report and they just showed a clip from the john gibson (fox) show. He was basically saying that in 25 years the hispanic population would be the biggest one in the US. Is this even possible? I question this because I look in my State and Local Gvt. book and it says that 70% of the population is white, while hispanics only make up 12.5%. Gibson pointed this out to tell white people to have more babies, and not let hispanics be the majority.

It may be possible, depending on the percentage of hispanics amoung the young. Though not in 25 years, barring a large increase in immigration.

YAY! Everyone, we must breed so we can protect the white race!

"A people that does not protect its racial purity will perish."

I guess Gibson supports that quote.

Only if you want to recognize people as potentially belonging to only one race. I would hesitantly imagine that's not a difficult mindset for the Fox News crowd to come towards.

Imagine the pickup line potention: "Hey, baby: They say that in 25 years, Hispanics will outnumber white people. How about you and me go back to my place and do something about that?"
Most likely he meant it would be the largest minority in the US.
Nope, hispanics are already the largest minority. The message was clear. The white people watching at home should have more babies. You should have seen the crowd reaction to that one.

Colbert even cracked up.

Media Matters has the clip...

It's pretty startling. But it's John Gibson, he claims he still carries around a gas mask on the subway. He's a loon that, like Ann Coulter, does more harm then good for his cause. I hope he never goes away.

I was waiting for him to scream "Wake up white people!"

Aren't stats like this used for recruiting in white supremacist groups?

Yeah I saw that on colbert, that guy is fucking hilarious. Colbert also used him for when he said a bunch of stuff from the letter to Bush from the president of iran was straight from democratic talking points. How one person can be so stupid is beyond me.

Eventually there will be no such thing as a pure lineage. Hell its already uncommon to find someone who doesn't have a mix of different countries in their family tree. Who cares though really?

Stupidity is earning him a lot more money than I've ever seen for myself.
I love this. The "liberal plot to ban christmas" is along the lines of the "gay agenda." The conservatives throw around a lot of "proof" as to its existence yet they fail to give a motive for either of them. What does anyone have to gain by "banning christmas" or pushing a "gay agenda?"

My birthday is on 12/25, so I've a lot to gain. Namely, some fucking RESPECT! ;)

That doesn't even make sense. "Half the kids under five are minorities, the majority of minorities are hispanics, so in 25 years hispanics will be the majority"

Is it me, or did he forget to state the percentage of hispanics?

And the u.s. census showed (at least according to mediamatters)
The U.S. Census last released its population projection in March 2004 and found that, by the year 2030, Hispanics will account for roughly 20 percent of the total population in the United States. The U.S. Census also projected that Hispanics will make up 24 percent of the nation's population by 2050.

You know, the weatherman can't even predict the weather for TOMORROW and be right more than 50 percent of the time.

Why would anyone believe some buffoon prediction for 25 years from now?

It sure is easy to throw out such baloney predictions when you consider that nobody is gonna remember that prediction let alone be around to call you on it if you are horribly wrong.

This guy can predict all he wants. So can you or I. None of us will likely be right.

It's no worse than listening to Algore predict how our earth is going to be destroyed in merely a few years if we don't stop .

Quote please.

Though why does everyone pay attention to science when it doesn't conflict with their politics, but ignore it when it does? The same goes for same sex adoption, working moms etc.

Evidently John Gibson. What a maroon. Does anyone have an exact quote?
Though why does everyone pay attention to science when it doesn't conflict with their politics, but ignore it when it does? The same goes for same sex adoption, working moms etc.
This is surely true, and on both ends of the political spectrum.

Don't limit that to just politics, bebe.

what a bunch of racist baloney! why cant spanish people have babies?

the child birth rate is acutally linked to income not race

I belive it stats all over are pointing to the same thing hispanics are having tons of children the flood of the illegals enables this.

Arnt hispanics already the second why is it hard to belive in 25 years they will be first?
