I want to start off by saying in advance that I apologize for asking this if its not allowed.
I really want the joker map packs for batman arkham asylum but I have a $50.00 credit with amazon . Do you think I can buy the game from Gamestop and get the code off the recipt to get the challange pack then take the game back for a full refund the next day ?

Or you could just wait until they put it up for DLC and be legitimate about it. All the preorder bonuses will be sold later. They've already confirmed this.

Pre-order bonuses are shitting on the community as a whole, anyway. Especially with how far they are taking it... withholding significant portions of a game and even going as far as to split them between companies.

I don't think there's any immorality in kicking a little dirt back in their faces. When we are buying a game, we are paying for all the time spent developing that game, including all the shit they take out for DLC and pre-order bonuses.

Exclusives are not that bad, that's what is going to bring certain people to shop at there store/site. I can see where your coming from AugustAPC but that's far beyond a retailers control, companies aren't happy with the $60 they get from consumers anymore. Now they have to rape us with DLC and add-ons but we have nobody to blame but ourselves for allowing this to happen by purchasing it.

How can you say we have no one to blame? We're not making the decision to withhold content from games. Developers and retailers are getting slimy as hell with their marketing schemes. It's only going to get worse from here.

Exclusives aren't what a company needs to bring costumers in. It should be about customer service, not how one store has leverage over another because they actually get the entire game. Prior to all this nonsense, no game stores were complaining about not being able to pull in costumers.

I despise being forced to shop at a specific store if I want to get everything I'm paying for when I buy a game. Especially when it's one with so many malicious practices as GameStop.

I say go for it. Their return policies don't address this or attach a price to the pre-order DLC.

Some may feel it's "wrong" but gamestop is not prohibiting it in their store policies, and you are not deceiving them in any way. Swapping price tags in a store or placing an item inside another item to steal it would be different.

This is simply a free gift for pre-ordering/purchasing the game that has no cash value. You are returning the only item of any cash value by their own standards to them for the same price you paid.

Now if gamestop goes ahead and prohibits returns of pre-orders with DLC attached or prices the DLC at $10 and discounts the game price $10, then you have to deal with that. I think worst you'll see is maybe if you do it too often they won't let you pre-order there anymore.

That's pretty much the worst case scenario he'll run into. Most pre-order bonuses like that will usually have a sku they need to type into their system before they give it to you, so if you just return the game itself and the receipt says DLC bonus on there somewhere, they might charge you separately for it to prevent you from swapping out just for the DLC.

But it's completely YMMV as it depends on if the DLC has a sku, if the employees types it in on the receipt, and the person you return the game to.
