Is your gameboy game collection primarily cart only or complete?

The majority of the time the only way to find older game boy games is by finding them used and normally they come cart only (once in a blue moon will you find them complete at used game stores like pawn shops and the usual). That's why most of my gameboy collection are cart only. Another reason for why most of my games are only cart is that when I was younger and naive I threw away many of the boxes (but kept nearly all of their manuals) to conserve space. But since I have become a member of CAG, the majority of my game boy advance games have gone from being cart only to complete with box and instructions (especially after the CC and TRU sales.) and I have tried to keep them complete as I really do like them more that way.

Edit: In short, my GBA collection is mostly complete, with about five not complete, while my GB/GBC games are mostly incomplete but with manual only.
 
I don't have a gameboy collection anymore. I only have a very select few games left. I gave my entire gameboy collection along with my gameboy, light, car adapter, charger, and all my games to my (then) girlfriend (now my wife). She turned around and gave them to her brother after playing it a few times. Well he then turned around and sold all my stuff because he was broke and wanted to buy a new surfboard..... :cry: he also had three jobs at the time so i have no idea how he was broke... :?:

eh.... oh well.
 
Sadly most of my old gameboy/GBC stuff is cart only, one of these days when I got more money to blow on random stuff I'll buy them complete.
 
I'd say about 95% of my GBA collection is complete. I have like one game that is cart only .(advance wars) thats because i bought it used at eb

You got that right. Some of my older stuff that still have their boxes are partly crushed. Still it's better than nothing at all. I'm so glad that Nintendo adopted the harder and smaller boxes for the DS games.
 
I have always kept the boxes, though I actually despise them. I also despise my SNES and N64 boxes. I so hate Nintendo for their craptacular packaging. Sega did it right with the Genesis boxes, and Nintendo should have done the same from that point on. Regardless, I no longer keep the boxes with my collection - they take up too much space (If I had the space, I would keep them out). If I sell a game to someone, I'm sure they would prefer a complete copy, which is pretty much why I keep everything. I know I'd prefer a complete copy if I was buying used (only to immediately turn around and store the box forever ;)
 
All of my B&W GB games are cart only. As for my GBA, I have 2 with box and 2 without. While I would NEVER buy a console game without the box and instructions, I really don't mind buying a cart only GBA game.
 
Heh, I dunno why but i keep everything for all my games. I guess i just like looking at the box art :D.
So long story short I have every game in my collection complete. Now I'm realizing what a wise move this is when I sell/trade them to people.
 
It ticks me off that used GBA games at places like Gamestop & EBGames don't have the boxes. Maybe it's because kids traded them in, or maybe it's because Gamestop/EB think they take up more space. But, it royally sucks.

I have found that in-laws do not respect the sanctity of gaming and gaming accessories.
 
I always keep the manual and whatever is designated to hold the game. In the NES, SNES, and GameBoy days, the box was NOT what held the game, they had their own little carrying sleeves, so I didn't keep the boxes. For CD based games, the box is also the designated "holder" so obviously I have the box/case for all disc based games.
 
95 % of my GBA collection is factory sealed the other 5% is complete(I will get them sealed ASAP). I do have a second set of everything I collect to play and it can be cart only.
 
wow, I'm sorta like the odd one out here, I keep just about everything but my gba games in complete condition but I have never really saved the boxes for em, I have a game carrying case and thats what they go in to, I do keep all the instruction manuals though
 
Although I keep everything (including boxes for systems etc) I am not sure why...

Unless the case is *useful* I should probably throw the damn thing away - it just takes up space and makes me into a packrat.

It looks like I'm the outsider, I trash my boxes after like 2 days. I keep the cart and the manual and trash the rest. You guys must have tons of room to keep the boxes. I just shove the games into pelican game holders so the games are protected.

For the record, some of the genny boxes were cardboard as well, but yeah, I hear what you are saying...

On topic: almost all of my GBC/GBA games are complete, but most everything before those are cart only. I am very particular about my games, but the handhelds don't seem to matter as much to me... :?

I have only about 5 GBA games that still have thier boxes.
I had kept all of them up to a point, but when you have an entire closet filled with nothing but old empty boxes, you tend to get yelled at to finally get rid of them.
 
With my ebaying, ive been ordering those Priority boxes from USPS for free. I use them for shipping, but the larger ones hold a system at a time, as well as a box of boxes.

I also have a bit of display space, so my GBA/DS boxes are safe
