GI: Games like Code Cronos and Ninja Gaiden 2 have been sort of waiting in the wings for quite a while now. Do you think we’ll be hearing some announcements about those titles in 2007?
Itagaki: I’d like to show everybody some of the new stuff that we’ve been working on in the near future. The only problem with that is that when the other developers see what we’re doing, they’re going to lose all of their motivation to create any game in the same genre, because there’s no way they can beat it.

Does he ever shut the hell up?

He was touting DOAX2 and saying how it's going to take 300 hours to unlock everything and blah blah blah bullshit so on and so forth.. yeah, look how awesome DOAX2 is doing.

And for god's sake, he's releasing the same damn game for the third time. If he's got that much creativity coming out of his ass, why don't we see an original IP instead of mash-ups (DOA characters and volleyball) and remakes (Ninja Gaiden)?

fuck off, Itagaki

To be fair, he's not making Sigma, it's one of his underlings.

Well with relevance to his volleyball games, it is volleyball. There really is not that much depth one can add to the game.

Ninja Gaiden was the best game of its genre last generation, and its AI and combo system trounced God of Wars, Devil May Cry's or any other contenders. I have faith that he will fully create something great once again with Ninja Gaiden II. I just hope he keeps with the same difficulty level.

Seeing good games doesn't make people with a creative spirit and a burning passion to make these want to quit.

It sets them aflame, and makes them want to make something even better.

Every good artist is inspired by other good art.

Itagaki's chin makes me lose all motivation to live. :whistle2:(

Sounds a lot like John Kerry. I have got a great plan for everything, but I won't tell you until AFTER Im elected. Haha.

As to the strayfoxx's post. How anyone thinks Ninja Gaiden is better than God of War is beyond me. I can't get past the first boss though so that might make a difference :D

itagaki's chin makes me lose all motivation to control my acne.

(but in all seriousness, the new games will kick ass.)

God dammit, I am sick of Itagaki's fucking chin. ahem. Oh, and I still like his trash talk. At least he's more interesting than someone like David Jaffe who just bitches about how nobody like Calling All Cars.

I think the guy is highly overrated, though his goofy comments don't bother me. Just an attention seeker (for himself more than his games). I think Ninja Gaiden (or NG Black, which I played) is an exceptional game. It truly is fantastic. His other games? I've played the DOA series and the first volleyball game and found both to be average at best. DOA is inferior to Tekken and Virtua Fighter, to me at least. The volleyball game was inferior to Sega's GC game, Beach Spikers. So, basically, he has delivered one good game in my mind. That's fine and all, but I'm not overly excited for anything of his other than NG2.

Other developers should quit. They're all years behind Team Ninja when it comes to real time, independent breast physics. I mean, other teams are still making games where both titties bounce exactly the same way for chrissakes! What is this? The 20th Century?

GoW is a button masher, simple as that.

NG is well...a REAL action game. Takes skill to play. Mash buttons and yes, you wont get past the first boss.

Although someone's comment about it being better than DMC is something I disagree with.
The Peter Monolyx of Japan.
not exactly. Molyneaux hyped Fable by talking about tons of things that never made it in the game. Thankfully, Itagaki doesn't do that.

Rather than thinking about other people, I think he should be worried about 1upping himself. Ninja Gaiden (Black [Sigma]) is a fantastic game. If he can truly pull out a better expierence with its sequel, I'm excited for it.

As much as he sounds off like a drunken lout and looks like an '80s B-level band metalhead that can't quite even make the 'Rib Cook-Off' tour circuit*, I will continue to care until we get the next Ninja Gaiden, at which point I will play it, hate it, start over again from the halfway point, love it, and then start to wonder if my reflexes will still be even vaguely effective enough to just daydream about playing the one after that in, oh, 2014?

*--But he still had Jessica Chobot on an "IGN Weekly" about ready to work him like a PSP to get a part in the next DOA, so I can see where he gets his 'bravado'.

It doesn't really take skill, just hold the block button and mash attack. You'll counter just about everything.

Theres a block button

Itagaki fucking rules.. the guy is a comic genius. He's woven a joke from a simple "I am the best" standpoint to that of being a complex joke of "I am so great, that I must hide my greatness.. for through my greatness, I am the martyr of the Japanese game development community in that I hide the greatest of my greatness in sacrifice to keep their feeble goals in motion, thus providing them a false sense of achievement. My videogame boobs are the Godzilla of this industry, and you all are feeble army men."

I'd pay to go drinking with this guy.

Holy shit. I believe I could carve a turkey with that thing.

I've never seen anything resembling poultry in a KFC bucket.

like one of those japanese metaphors for sex in a hentai game, which turned out way too formal because the creators translated it by putting the script through babelfish?

Peach Princess announces that they're going to hang it up because they cannot compete.

Ninja Gaiden might have been more technical than God of War but GoW was more visceral. I got amped playing it. Too bad the first game never reaches the madness of it's first boss fight later in the game. At the same time, the last boss fight in Ninja Gaiden was kind of a let down too.

They were both incredible games and I'm dying for GoW 2 to drop so I can play it.

definitely agree about GoW's first boss. That's what the demo was, and what I thought I would get with the whole game, but nah, that was the best part. downhill from there to one of the worst final boss fights in recent memory.

the last boss fight in NG was kinda like an extra. Now the 2nd to last boss fight--that was fucking amazing. :)
