Jak and Daxter (PS2) $5.76 at Amazon

You mean Lost Frontier? If you like the Jak series you don't want to play that game, it's so bad it could potentially taint your memory of the whole franchise.

My memories were already tainted by Jak II :( Never bothered to go and play the third game after disliking the second game so much. Such a shame, as Jak I was such a great game.

Same here, absolutely loved the first game, everything after that was a disappointment when they tried to go the GTA open world model that was becoming popular at the time.
Any way to know if this the black label edition or a Greatest Hits version?
Considering how long the black label has been out of print I'd just assume it's Greatest Hits at this point.

Jak 2 has its ups and downs, but Jak 3 is an all-time classic and one of the best games on PS2. If I had to rank all of the big PS2 platformers (the Ratchet & Clank games, Jak games, and Sly Cooper games), I'd put Jak 3 at the top of the list.

Sold by Big Game Vendor and Fulfilled by Amazon.

The only PS2 game I don't have in the Jak & Daxter series. Tempted but also wanting to hold out for a PS3 HD collection.

Jak and Daexter Precursor Legacy was freaking AMAZING (100% it at least 3 times). I wish the sequels were like that. The second I didn't like; how's does the third play?

3 is open world with vehicles like 2 was, but its so much better, best in the series imo. If you haven't played 3 yet I'd definitely recommend it.

I am right now about to finish Lost Frontier (PS2) and I agree it definitely sucks compared to the other 3. It is very sloppy as someone said with the camera being an issue quite frequently, also the cinematics and controls are subpar at best.

I got the game for $7.49 at Target as it was on clearance. I already beat the first 3 games of the series along with Daxter on PSP (which is $3 used at GameStop - get it!). This one is just for fans of the series....

Seriously? The game is 5+ years old. Rest assured it's the GH copy.

Given the game wasn't produced by Naughty Dog, that's not too surprising. It's sort of like when Microsoft will hand over Halo to another developer outside Bungie. Sony doesn't have a particularly good track record of managing franchises that are taken out of the hands of the core developer/creator. Nintendo seems to be the only one good at doing this.

This game, Daxter, and Secret Agent Clank were PSP ports. You can't expect TOO much from them.

do any of you think this will come to the ps3 in a collection anytime soon? I have a ps2, but I somehow missed out on all of the good games other than the ratchet and clank series. I'd also like to know whether the mgs series will come to the ps3 as a collection, as I'd like to play MGS4 but want to play the others first.

There's always a chance that it will come to the PS3 in a collection, but the games don't need it, in my opinion. All 3 run pretty well so the power of the PS3 won't really do much to improve performance. The only thing going to high def would do is remove some of the jagged edges, but after playing them recently I hardly noticed this. Jak 2 and 3 also have progressive scan which makes a high-def collection even more unnecessary.

As for MGS, that also seems possible. Kotaku recently posted an article about a MGS HD collection possibly being in the works. Check it out.

I'm hoping that there'll be a collection just for the sake of added trophies and having everything on one disc. My only worry is that, to date, the most games that have been included in one collection have been three but the Jak & Daxter series has 6 (1,2,3, Daxter, Lost Frontier, and that racing one) so maybe they'll put them out in two volumes?

Completely agree. The first one was awesome, and competed well with what Nintendo/Rare were doing, only with then-advanced graphics. After that.....eeeeeeeeew. I'm sure there are people, but it's hard for me to think anyone who likes the first game could like the sequels.

They ruined EVERYTHING. Gameplay, character, setting, graphics...they just trashed it. Oh gee, he has a goatee now. How cool.

EDIT: I should mention, I sold my copy back in the day, but actually rebought it just recently. Too bad they never ported it to the PSP!

I did buy the most recent PSP game though...the demo was okay, and I'm hoping for the best. (Liked the demo better than Naughty Dog's sequels at least, not that that's saying anything.)

By the way, I just finished Lost Frontier and I must say that it felt like a chore to play the game, but I am finally done.
Daxter was really good and right now is $2.99 at GameStop. This is probably one of the best platformers you can play on the PSP. Ign gave it a 9.

This is beyond a steal. I played it and loved every minute of this game. Buy it if you own a PSP.

I love the PSP but I hated Daxter...though no more than I hated Jak 2 and 3.

I'll probably hate the new one too, but oh well.
