Just got back from Circuit City's black friday sale. I went to get the James Bond Ultimate Collection Vol 1 that was in their ad for $18.99. When I got there they also actually had volumes 2, 3, and 4 also for the same black friday sales price of $18.99! This is a helluva deal. Each of these box sets normally sell for about $55-$79 each. I went ahead and bought all 4 volumes at only $18.99 each. This deal seems to be online too! go now before they are backordered.

I bought them all right when they came out for $50 a piece and dont regret it....if you can get them for $19 and some change its a hell of a deal.

Thanks my good fellow. I was just about to pull the trigger on buying the Ultimate Bond Set at DeepDiscountDVD.com for $150 after discount so this saves me seventy bucks that means I just need to find Casino Royale on the cheap and I will be complete.

Casino Royale is weird because the Full Frame edition is $20 but the Widescreen is $9.
 
Yea, I was just about to edit my post. I've tried ordering twice now, and both times it times out on the last submit step.

I think someone's telling me I don't need to spend any more money.


EDIT: Nevermind, I just refreshed my account history again and now it shows that *both* orders placed. So now I have to cancel one.

My order for all 4 sets just went through as well as though initially it looked like it timed out. I just need to add casino royale and I'm all set.

Pretty sweet deal considering I dumped all of the old OOP DVD releases for $400 on ebay a few years ago.

I bought widescreen Children of Men a few weeks ago for $10 from Amazon, last week it was $8 while the fullscreen was $18.
 
OK, so I finally got through on CC's phoneline, just to be told I have to call back tomorrow because they can't cancel the duplicate now.

Assuming they ship them both - which isn't that unlikely at this point - can I just return the extra one to the store?
 
Yeah Volume 3 is ace. Contains arguably the best Bond movie ever (On Her Majestys...), followed by two of the better ones (From Russia + Goldeneye). It's a shame Moonraker is on set 4, as like, the only good one in there.
 
Now I just have to find a CheapAss deal on Casino Royal to complete the collection. Where's the best place to pick that up today?

EDIT: so far I think Casino Royale 2-disc widescreen at Amazon for $9.99 may be the best deal on it. I just now realized I missed it for $8.99 this morning at Circuit City's 6-hour sale.
 
Thx OP for posting this. I have been waiting for a good sale so I could get this for the misses, and I missed reading about this deal elsewhere. I just ordered all four sets moments ago.
 
In for all 4 boxed sets, saved me a trip to CC, thx OP! My dad has been dropping hints on the bond boxed set for at least the past month, glad I could get it for him at a good price! :D
 
Bought all 4 box sets and Never Say Never Again/Casino Royale from Amazon.

$101.50 for all 25 movies :) can't beat that with a stick.
 
Too bad the only movies I'm interested are GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, and Die Another Day, which are conveniently spread out in each of the four box sets. :(
 
Thanks so much, OP. Been wanting to get On Her Majesty forever, but it's the only one they've NOT released as a single disc! Bought the set, will sell the rest on eBay or whatever since I have them all.

Just as an FYI...since that one has never been released singularly, they go for about $30+ just for that disc! So getting the set at $19 is quite the deal!

No difference at all but you get a big shiny box to hold all the sets in outside of the fact that you would save $140 bucks by buying them seperately then the actual set.

Damn, I forgot that Never Say Never Again is the only movie missing from the 4 Volumes. I guess I will have to try and find it on the cheap.

"Never Say Never Again" wasn't an official Bond movie. Found the following info online:

This film doesn't count on the "official" James Bond film listing, as it was released by Warner Brothers rather than United Artists. Produced by Kevin McClory [not Cubby Broccoli and EON]. Basically a remake of Thunderball. It was released the same year as the "official" Octopussy.

It's still good to own if you are a James Bond fan because Sean Connery does essentially play as "James Bond" in the film.

That's just like Casino Royale from 1967 that was made from Peter Sellers is a farce about James Bond which is really silly and not an official Bond release either.

Yeah, it's an unoffical movie but I really enjoyed what I saw of Never Say Never Again (saw part of it on tv)
 
My CC unfortunately only had Vol. 4. I want to watch 'em again... but in order :D
 
Bought all four when released at full price, but at this price, you just can't pass it up. All very good and at under $20, why wouldn't you get them?
 
I caved in and ordered them as well! I already have Casino Royale 2 Disc set and Blu Ray version, so this is perfect! looks like #4 is out of stock, though they are still taking orders!
 
Well crap I've been waiting for a good deal on these sets and I dont think it will get much better than this. Too bad I couldnt get them instore with having to work 14 hours Friday and Saturday but I can wait until they get here. Hopefully vol. 4 will not be out of stock for very long.

What are you talking about? Octopussy is on 4, that's the best Bond movie ever, no wonder that is the only one that isn't available for immediate shipping to me!

I was enjoying watching through some of the old ones earlier this year, since I had never seen them. Found a good deal on sets 3&4. Really enjoyed From Russia... and On Her Majesty's...., but then I got to Live & Let Die. Ugh. After about 45 minutes, I couldn't take it any more. VERY cheesy.

I got sidetracked after that I believe, so I need to go back to them. Picking these up may be the "nudge" I needed to do that.
 
yah I broke down and had to order them too... I really wanted to save my money but I knew this is one of those deals I would be kicking myself for missing
 
I own the original DVD release sets...are these worth double dipping? The price seems real damned good.
 
I went by my local CC to return something and they had a them in stock (except #1) I called to cancel my online order and was told that the order had already been filled and would ship on Mon. so I didn't get them in store. no need to tie up my $$$ for no reason, I can wait :)

Not really unless you are really into special features otherwise I wouldn't get them.
 
Actually the transfers are way better on the new sets. Especially on some of the Connery titles, the old DVDs showed the print's age. Could be worth it if you don't plan on dipping again whenever they come out in HD.

i bit. of course they are all backordered, hopefully they do eventually ship, but These may have simply been clearanced out and will not come back, that is why the price was so low.
 
I had to place two separate orders yesterday, as my wallet's been getting raped this week. I used 2 ccs and my 1st order with 1 & 2 shipped today :)
