Oh dear. I read this post of terrible DoTW items.

It sucks that they only put avatar junk on sale. Why not put an Arcade game for DoTW like DeathSpank.

What a wonderful way to begin the New Year.

Then again we did just come off of a big week of deals so I guess its to be expected.
 
I bought one of those hipster floppy touques for my avatar about a year ago, because, well, that's what I usually wear in real life.

I'm ashamed for myself first and foremost. But other than that one blur of judgment of 60M$points, I don't understand the attraction to these. Maybe the props are kind of cool, like the Light Saber or a toy from your favorite game, but honestly and truely, is there a point?

I'd understand if there was an XboxHome kind of thing, but there isn't. There's what: Two games that use your avatar? You never see them in game, only in people's forum's signatures and on your friend list, right?
 
I actually have friends who've spend, judging by the frequency of change and cost of items, over $50 on avatar clothing #-o

I don't HATE them. I find using them in some games fun. As for items, no thanks. I bought Garrus' scouter a while back, only because I had a few points, but not enough to buy anything. I normally just wear avatar awards and freebies.
 
i've only bought 1 thing from the avatar marketplace ever...the Blue Jays jersey which I've never removed from my avatar. Other than that all my avatar items are either from in-game rewards (which there are plenty now if you play the right games) or just the default items.

I don't get people who spend tons of money on these items though...but to each their own

Updated first post with upcoming deals. Looks like January might not be a total write-off (more than 50 deals coming up in the next couple of weeks) ... just have to wait and see what they are.

Also, for the silver/free members, keep in mind that a free Gold weekend is coming at the end of January.

I'm curious if the extra content in PvZ for XBL worth the extra $7 when compared to $3 I paid for it on the app store?

Don't get me wrong I love me some PvZ, but trying to be the best CAG I can.
 
PvZ is excellent. Great on Steam with a mouse. As a newish regular priced 1200 game it's not likely to get to 400 soon, but if I were being a really good CAG I wouldn't pay more than 600 for it. :)
 
I was actually tempted to buy an avatar item when 1vs 100 was still on since people saw your avatar but since MS killed that there's really no point.
 
The deals for this week are now posted ... there are a few more items than expected.

I am looking forward to seeing what Activision content goes on sale tomorrow ... hopefully it won't be a let down.
 
I'm hoping the Activision and EA content isn't just DLC and add-on type stuff. Then again, I'm not even sure what Arcade games they have on the service, so I'll be surprised at least.
 
I can't believe that The Sacrifice is not part of this week's deal. I already have The Passing so they lost a chance at my money.
 
My son had this game on his Christmas wish list, I'll let him discover it today. What son? Plants Vs Zombies is on the 360? Santa must have put it there :lol:

i was all ready to pick up Hydrophobia when they released its mega patch and dropped it to 800 points. I delayed it and now that its hitting 400 points at then end of the month I'll be all over it.

Looks like this weeks deals are Gold Membership Exclusives, I think this is the first time in a while that they have limited discounted games to "Gold Only"

I'd pick up Pacman so quick if it was 400. Hoping it wins.

I got Hydrophobia and I'm enjoying it, but I think I'll probably wait to get the cast off my broken right thumb to play the game. :/

I wouldn't recommend Hydro Thunder for 800 though. 400 (as it was in christmas), yes. 800, no. There is waaayyyy too much filler in the game when the only fun part is the racing.
