Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

Saga Frontier 2 (and possibly Patapon 1+2) is about the only import I'm looking to at the moment as well.

I've been buying from Play Asia since...2004!? (I was only 17 lol) 'Rockman Battle and Fighters,' and 'King of Fighters Battle de Paradise' for the NGPC. I still have both games. It's where I would preorder/purchase the last retail Dreamcast releases from Japan. The limited editions like 'Under Defeat,' 'Radirgy,' 'Karous' and 'Triggerheart Exelica.' I still have all those too.

VGP had already taken some of my orders from Play Asia, but, yeah, it would be a bit sad to leave them behind.

My playasia order finally arrived in the US, took 21 days, arrived in CA so it still has a while to get to me. Playasia didn't always have free shipping but that sure got me to buy a lot more. I hope it comes back but it doesn't look like it. I also noticed their checkout changed. My first order at playasia was in 2004. I can still remember what I ordered. It was a Korean PS2 Guilty Gear XX #Reload that came in a metal case with a 2 CD soundtrack. It was really cool, it had Korean voices, new Korean music, and an exclusive background.

Also, looks like I'm not getting that Guilty Gear Strive 25th AE PS5 that was on sale at amazon. Ordered it May 2 and it still says order received. I am guessing it's out of print since only best buy seems to still have it in stock.

Tariffs were back on the menu since this morning.

California? Nah. Texas and Florida - we'd all be so much better off without those two states. At this point, I'd happily see them leave the republic.

Anyways, back on topic, I placed a PA order a while back and hope to get it eventually. PA is an excellent retailer and I'd like to keep ordering from them but between the tariff uncertainty and no f/s (I had to pay nearly $25 for shipping last time because Trump's idiot tariffs affected my order), I don't see me ordering more from PA anytime soon.

At this point, I'd prefer TACO Trump just go ahead and do his stupid and tank the economy so it happens fast and quick. We're still going to have a recession due to his stupidity but this TACO approach is just making it worse by forcing us to watch it all collapse in ultra slow motion.
