Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

A message from Thorbahn:

Our CAG Japanese Niche Games Thread also has a community on PS4, where you can interact and game with other members of the thread.

Our moderators are: Draekon, Las_Hole, and Waffleswanton

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

As always, have fun and enjoy your stay!

For Omega Quintet, I highly suggest following a guide. You can actually miss quests and that will lock you out of the true ending. I know I missed some so whenever I do finish it, I'll have to do the new game +

I'm a few hours into it and it's going to be one of those games where I chip away at the storyline here and there. I've just stayed on top of the side quests as I went to make sure nothing was misses before I continue with the story. Sword Art Online: RE Hollow Fragment, and Lost Song have taken back over my attention, though.

Just so you're aware if you're using the in-game sidequest list and not an external one. Some quests don't show up until you meet certain bullshit requirements and thus can be easily missed.

Well that's disheartening. Luckily I'm not too far into the game, so perhaps I can snag a guide and avoid missing anything. I found a good one for Agarest: Generations of War 2 cause that's apparently a long, and painful platinum to miss with tons of questions you have to answer correctly.

Has anyone played/ imported Attack of Titan on the Vita yet? I found a copy for $15 and I'm very tempted to give it a try before the Western release. If you played this how was it for a person who doesn't know Japanese.

No, but I think that it's a really good deal. Maybe watch some Youtube videos. I'm sure there's some guides on the internet, since it's just a big name game. Anyways, I'd go for it, personally. Maybe others on here could actually really help you, though. Good luck! :)

No, but I'd do it, personally. I mean if you don't want it, I'll take it for that :). Really though, if you don't want to wait, I imagine there's a guide or two out there on the internet and it doesn't really look too overly complicated, but I could be wrong. I imagine getting used to the gear would be the basic controls and the missions on most games like that are easy enough usually to figure out. I'm purely making assumptions though,
I have no idea, but that is a good price! The only thing I usually miss is the story (if needed) and some less important quests or whatever in games like that. Lol. I have no idea. Sorry about the rambling. I'm sure somebody here has played it, even just a little. Have you watched any videos on Youtube yet to see what it's like?
Thanks Davey, I'm picking it up this weekend as long as it loads on my Vita. $15 is so cheap for an import game that I can't pass this up.

Cool, it's like $60 plus shipping at Playasia. I just checked to see, so it's definitely a good deal, I like to get cheap imports myself, I'm so impatient. Well best of luck, I hope it works out perfect for you. and I'm curious how the Vita one runs, so let me know sometime. If you really don't like it, I'll buy it from you, too. Lol nah, I hope you love it!

Edit: Oh, here's a simple link to a few PS4 walkthroughs on YouTube which should help just the same, except maybe controls, but you get the idea. Have fun:

I've decided to preorder Cladrius Blaze for PS4. Playasia the best place for that? How long does the economy shipping generally take, about a month(that's about what I remember when I used to import stuff from Asia but that was almost 10 years ago)?

Is Arslan The Warriors of Legend worth $14.99 and free shipping from Gamefly? Well I already bought it, I just wanted to know what to look forward to, if anything. Is it a good musou? I remember the demo seemed kind of blah but I wasn't really trying when I played. Anyways...

I like the boxart. Hopefully Bamco does the Asia Eng release. Seems like a trend for them. But then again, it's still Bamco.

How does Trails of Cold Steel Lion heart Edition for Vita compare to PS3 version?
From what I read, they're virtually similar. However, I've read some people state that the PS3 performs slightly better than the Vita version.

Bottom line is you can't go wrong either either version.

I honestly want the Tokyo Mirage Session Special Edition to sell out in a day.. Just like FE: Fates SE did.
I hope it lasts one full day, then sells out up until after release.

That way people can't bitch and complain that the pre-orders were gone too fast and they had no chance.

I've been watching anime and playing Jrpgs my entire life, but I flat out don't get idol games. Let alone Miku, do you guys seriously enjoy her music because it's basically high pitched robot noises...yeah I went there.

Thanks for the info - was Trails in the Sky FC and SC ever released as physical copies on the Vita in NA?
