Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

A message from Thorbahn:

Our CAG Japanese Niche Games Thread also has a community on PS4, where you can interact and game with other members of the thread.

Our moderators are: Draekon, Las_Hole, and Waffleswanton

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

As always, have fun and enjoy your stay!

Is there any word on whether this CE (Berserea) will have something special about the game like a reversible cover art, different cover art, color manual, etc like they've done in the past?

Sent from my Galaxy Note 7 using TapaTalk

Video Games Plus has Class of Heroes 2G for PS3 available with different cover art, etc to order now if anyone missed out on it like myself.

Finally decided on rest of October.....Exist Archive PS4....likely buy.

Passing on World of Final Fantasy PS4 (heard story is bad and is mainly a monster collect-a-thon). I have Pokemon Sun/Moon in November and Final Fantasy games always go down in price. I'll play my chances.

Civilization 6  passing...haven't played Civ 5+ Expansions really at all...so will play that if I want to scratch my Civilization itch.

Does anyone what happened with the Zero Time Dilemma watches? Amazon sent the game only a few months back to me and read online the watches were coming at a later time.

I checked on Amazon today and see no trace of my order or if they ever charged my CC. So looks like I got the game for free. Really wanted the watch though :(
You were supposed to get an email in september about how to claim your watch.

Here's the link to the watch on amazon. Disregard the price. Add it to your cart and see if a promotional credit applies that should make it free.

I listed Higurashi a couple weeks ago, but it looks like it was delayed a week so I'm listing it as last week's sudden releases. Other than that, this is pretty much an RPG week for games I'd like to buy but will wait. I believe Pokemon Sun & Moon get an eShop demo this week as well. Outside of Japanese releases, you have the big hitters Civilization VI and Battlefield One.

Other stuff that released without warning last week that are all on PC/Steam:
- Catch Canvas (Visual Novel)
- Delicious! Pretty Girls Mahjong Solitaire (Simulation / Mahjong)
- Higurashi When They Cry Hou - Ch. 4 Himatsubushi (Visual Novel)
- Wonder Boy Returns (Platformer)

I havent watched the anime but is the game any good?
I love the reviews for the anime, people get so offended at yuri animes but then praise murder animes to hell and back.

The game is average, slightly worse than Senran Kagura if you actually are playing it for games sake not for waifu sake.

The anime is entirely disconnected from the game outside of the 2 main characters appearing as DLC. Also only watch it in environments that are ok with lesbian porn (the gimmick is orgasm to turn into a weapon.)

Worse? Damm i thought i read it had a better fighting system.

I hope they keep up this trend of getting us limited editions early rather than waiting until release day to ship them out. Now I just need to wait for my pillow to come in that I forgot to order...

I've gotta say, I'm really disappointed with the Superdimension art book. I'm 99 percent sure that I've seen the lion's share of the art in this book is recycled from past LE art books.

I'm actually very disappointed with WoFF. I don't like the battle speed, even with R1 held down it's slow, and I hate the camera and in world movement.

Is there any actual reason to play the WoFF demo besides trying the game out (as in in game items)?

I have the game preordered already but I would rather spend my hour grinding them Overwatch Halloween Boxes so I can get that damn Mercy skin instead of trying the demo.
