The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games.
There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

If you see a deal, please post!

NOTE: Please check the most recent page for the latest deals.

And I want to thank many of you in advance who submit their deals and their support!!!

Ya i thought of that but didn't feel like searching for one. They got removed too though. I figgured just linking to the official NISA response should NOT get pulled
I think we know why you want the link. :joystick::joystick::joystick:

Guy game didnt need to edit out the real child porn, I say NISA should go for it.
Again, theres no need to discuss the censorship thing since it seems no one here can do so without flaming.

BTW looks like one of the posts about HDK2013 got deleted as well as my reply. I was wondering if they had reworked the graphics/models in it, because the screenshots linked looked a lot better than the previous games. That, or they were touched up screenshots =P

The info shouldn't have been 'cleaned'. As long as no one is arguing over it, it's helpful to have. Why do you (the mod that keeps deleting everything) think this argument has popped up 3-4 times now? It's just going to be asked again, presented in a biased way again, and then the arguing will start again.

They've actually told you this? I've returned crushed boxes and sometimes the replacement gets shipped in a better container, and other times it's the same packaging but somehow doesn't get crushed. (I'm in IL, not CA, if that makes any difference.)

In incidents like this I always leave packaging feedback and do an exchange. This costs them money, and eventually someone will notice if enough people do it. I haven't had the same game get crushed twice yet, but if I do I'm going to keep doing exchanges until they get sick of me or finally get their act together.

Actually, eventually they will threaten to ban you from Amazon. I have received warnings twice and each time I simply threw it back at them explaining that I pay full retail when I buy collector's editions from them and I expect them to package things properly. I have even exchanged e-mails and spoken to management folks at Amazon and their position is basically that they can't customize packaging and that if I don't like their packaging, I can buy elsewhere. If something arrives damaged once, it very rarely is shipped properly the second time since as I said, regardless of feedback or issues, they won't change how they package items. The only time I have seen a change is if an item goes under review because of many complaints in which case sometimes they change the designated shipping packaging. That almost never happens unfortunately, and it's worthless when an item is sold out.

A bigger problem for me recently has been that Amazon is damaging stuff before it even gets into the packaging. I have received perfect boxed items that have tears and poke holes through the case and insert indicating that they were damaged before they even shipped out. I even got one CE recently that had some type of food residue stuck to the box (it smelled like bananas).

I ended up getting a perfect sealed copy of Code of Princess at Gamestop this weekend. All of my CE/LE preorders have been switched over as at least I get to see what I'm getting before I buy and I can stop making trips to UPS and the post office to drop off the damaged garbage Amazon has been sending me on a regular basis.

Amazon has always been hit or miss with me as far as shipping quality is concerned. I've learned to never order say books (I read graphic novels) or games in large quantities from them because they will try and over stuff all of your order into one box with little or no packing foam. Almost always a sure fire way to get your stuff jacked up.

I've never had an issue with them when only ordering one title though.

Just got my Mugen Souls LE with figure set. Figures are in a separate box from LE package, like the Disgaea 4 premium figure edition. Game box is the same size as the Neptunia mk2 LE. By the look and feel of the way it's packaged though, there is a definite possibility for bent or depressed boxes. The towel and sponge are packed near the bottom, so the top portion lacks a bit of support (feels really hollow). Even then, the bottom portion feels really easy to squeeze, probably because the extras don't add much support. My box came slightly depressed near the top despite it being wrapped with bubble wrap. Fortunately, it's not too much of a depression to notice visibly though.

Here's a picture of it damaged at the bottom. I will probably contact them for an exchange. This thing can't even stand straight up.

Problem I think was that the two boxes aren't the same size. The figure box is sturdier, and half an inch shorter. Which means if you wrap them together, the game box will have pressure either half inch from the top or bottom. In my case, the bottom, which probably caused the crease.

The figure box itself looks pristine.

Sounds just like the Agarest War 2 CE box. The box is just about the same size and it was very hollow. The blowup doll and towel don't offer much support. Too bad this is NISA store exclusive or Amazon would have a million of these going for cheap in the warehouse deals due to package damage.

I haven't opened the box yet got it yesterday, love how the shipping box it came in is barley big enuff to handle the contents did amazon give them pointers on how not to ship a expensive item.

Ugh...that's the same thing they did last time and my game arrived damaged. I can't believe they haven't learned anything from the returns they had last time.

I have never had trouble with NISA shipping. I got my package on Wednesday, way before I expected since Wednesday was the delayed release date and I am across the US from NISA. Everything was in pristine and great condition.

While that's nice for you, how does that help everyone that got damaged items this time and last time?
While that's nice for you, how does that help everyone that got damaged items this time and last time?
Well it really doesn't, but I was just stating that NISA isn't that bad with shipping. It could have been an Amazon/Newegg stuffing it in a bubble wrap envelope.

At least you know NISA has a good amount of supply left to do a replacement, and at least from my experience their CS is typically good.

I was thinking of sending mine off to vga to get graded if its in mint conditon along with my sealed copy of zelda collectors edition for the gc.

Except that this is the second game in a row that have used form fitting packing to ship and the second time in a row people have received damaged games. So, yes, NISA is now bad with shipping even if they used to be great.

All my packages from NISA have been in stellar condition. No complaints whatsoever. Leaves a lot to be desired with Amazon, however.

I've been ordering from NISA since the first Hyperdimension Neptunia game in 2011.

Got my copy of mugen souls LE last night. Came in great shape, bubble wrapped in a nice cardboard box as they have been with most of the LE's lately.
Experts! Any word if GameStop will have P4G Premium in stores on 11/20? Or did I snooze and... lose.
As far as I know each GS store puts in an order for at least 1 extra of things that get pre ordered. Heh that's why my local store always has at least one of a lot of the niche games on the shelf. Not sure if this is true but it's what my store told me. But if it is there is a good chance they had the store put in an order for one too if someone else pre ordered there. Plus i'm not sure if that also applies to items with a set number of edition like this. Good luck regardless :)

Ok cool - thanks. I will try my luck next month. Thanks again!

Corpse Party will be $10 on PSN starting tomorrow.

I heard it was a must-buy even at $20, so I'm definitely picking it up for half off to put on my Vita.

The price that I (and surely many others) have been waiting for. I wish I hadn't bought my BL2 Season Pass from Gamestop, because then I'd be a lot closer to the $100 mark for October.

Jesus. My 2nd replacment copy of Code of Princess came in the same shitty bubble mailer as the last one. Screw this I am competley through with Amazon and ordering any kind of special edition or quality game with a cover. I cant believe a company this large is this retarded with their shipping practices. The only way it seems the way they package this stuff changes is AFTER they get hundreds of thousands of dollars in returns on the product

Ya.. even had my repost of just the info and a brief summary removed afterward. Ridiculous. Im just posting a direct link to the official NISA forum post this time explaining what was removed and nothing more. There is NO REASON for a mod to remove that. Its a link to the official Publisher statement. People deserve to know that the games been altered

Alright to those who were asking what was censored in Mugen Souls, or unaware that the game has been altered: Heres the official statement over on NISA's forums about it

http://nisamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=9704

exact quote from the post:
----------
Q: What's been edited, and why did you decide to edit it?
A: The Japanese version of the game contained a mini-game in which the player had to scrub/grope 2D depictions of female characters in a variety of bath scenes. The characters and surrounding audio/visual elements were extremely sexualized, and a number of the characters were depicted as potentially being pubescent or pre-pubescent. We decided to remove this content out of concern for the potential of receiving an AO rating from the ESRB, which would prevent us from releasing the game. In addition, as a company, we did not want NISA to release or be known for content that could be seen as sexualizing or objectifying children in this way. As this system contained no real story elements or gameplay (it was used to level up your characters, but the player's inputs had no impact on the final stats) we felt it was not a substantial loss of content. Note that your characters will still level up as if you had viewed the scenes, so no gameplay functionality is lost.
----------

theres more details in the link, but thats the first/main Q and A copy and pasted directly. Go to the official link to read the full details. There is no reason to delete this. It is a direct link to the OFFICAL site of the publisher and their statement on what was removed

About the packaging for Mugen souls from the pics people upt up.. i gotta say. Looks like NISA is veering twords this flimsy easily crushed packaging more and more. I prefer their older sturdier box sets from the past.
Disgaea D2 announced! YES! I created a thread for it over on the PS3 boards. Can't wait for an eventual American release (I hope?)

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=330417
I read about that a few days ago. I gotta say D1 was still by far my favorite. I put hundreds of hours into that thing. D2 i think i only beat once and that was one of the earlier 'bad endings' that stopped the game. D3 i played for like 2 hours then stopped. I really didn't like the characters at all, they didn't grab me. I still have not played D4 although i have 2 copies of it with the figures and stuff. I was thinking of doing a playthrough of them all again from the start. To fans of the series, where does 4 rank among them? Is it pretty good?

If this truly does bring back the original cast then im stoked. I gotta wonder though. What ending does it follow from D1? Is Flonne Devil Flonne or Angel Flonne? I could care less about Etna, i never liked her =P

Nope, still waiting on mine. I ordered it when they had their $12 off $49.99 deal. I saw some people on Neogaf were getting backorders and both the regular and mercenary edition are sold out on Newegg so who knows whats going on.

I would normally do the same if this game didn't have multiplayer. These monster hunter type games are really fun to play online. It is skipping up to the front of my backlog so I can take advantage of the initial online community.. just incase it doesn't last long :)
