The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games.
There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

If you see a deal, please post!

NOTE: Please check the most recent page for the latest deals.

And I want to thank many of you in advance who submit their deals and their support!!!
Don't buy online and stick with B&M store for collectors edition
This. If you guys are so intent about not having a single ding, why not just go instore? Its the main reason I stopped ordering C.E's online unless it was the last possible chance to get it.

I finally got to open my Mercenary Edition package and the condition is pretty good. Some dings in two corners but no biggie.

I lied about buying it on day one but I'm interested in Half Minute Hero 2 even though I've only played the demo of the first one.

fun game but gets boring after awhile ... would been a nice 30 buck game
Anyone here bought that new Harvest Moon? Debating on it.
I've had it for a while now. It's certainly one of the better Harvest Moon titles. The first month is really really slow, but once they introduce the blueprint system things get a lot more interesting.
marvelous usa just tweeted this http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/1080112/Half-Minute-Hero-2-Coming-to-the-West

Might be the only chance to see Half Minute Hero 2 in English
I clicked yes. I clicked yes so hard.
Voted!

If it got a UMD release like the first one I'd day-1 it.
Same here. Too many late-release PSP RPGs have been download-only. I understand why Sony is doing it that way, but I still won't buy them.

I'm pretty sure the developers make that decision.
Siliconera has the news that Elminage Original is coming to PSN on 11/20. There's no word on the price yet.
Woot! Another dungeon crawling series comes to US (and with all of the old-school feeling and challenge to boot)!

Just like Legend of Grimrock, day one buy for me!

smh... i got my replacement Rangarok Mercenaries from newegg... came in a bubble mailer and had the same crushed outer box. I wonder if they just resent me the same one i sent back to them.

Oh nice, I can't wait.. I love games like this :bouncy:

More likely it's the publisher, but yes, I get what you are saying.
Anyone here know if the Ragnarok Odyssey mercenary edition is worth the purchase?
The extras seem cool, but I'd wait for it to go on sale. Most of Xseed's limited editions for PSP were available for $20/$30 at some point, and Amazon still has over 1000 of these. Maybe watch an unboxing video to see if you'd care about the extra stuff at all?
Anyone here know if the Ragnarok Odyssey mercenary edition is worth the purchase?
Ragnarok Odyssey's Mercenary Edition is how you do special editions right. For just $10 more than the price of the game you get a soundtrack, guide/art book and some playing cards. It's easily worth it.

I just noticed that Hakuoki Demon of the Fleeting Bloosom Limited Edition PSP is $20 on Amazon. Also, Fishing Resort Wii is $15 and the controller version is $20

I was thinking of picking up the Persona 4 Arena game for the PS3 (now at $29 on Amazon) and when I went to Target a week ago, I saw that it came bundled with a CD soundtrack. Does anyone know if the Amazon version comes with the soundtrack? Usually they mention if there is a soundtrack included, but don't see anything listed.

yes cause you need to know what DROPS what to build the items
Doesn't appear to have been posted yet: Record of Agarest War 2 Limited Edition is now $29.99 on Amazon.

Lots of people have complained of crushed boxes due to Amazon shipping it in a bubble mailer. I ordered along with BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND Limited Edition, so I'm hoping that's enough to force Amazon to use a box.
I still have my sealed launch copy sitting on my bookshelf.

Oh well.

The vast amount of information on Gamefaqs isn't enough? lol

(If there was a bad joke in there, forgive me, I did not see it.)
They do, it's on the 2nd page and you when you click on it you can choose whether to get the standard or LE.
Ah, that's a weird set up. Thanks for pointing that out.
No mention of the Aksys 50% off sale?

http://store.aksysgames.com/collections/black-friday-cyber-monday-sale

Well, I wouldn't blame anyone with those normal prices.
But Record of Agarest War Zero LE for $25 (including shipping) doesn't seem too bad if you've been looking for it to drop.
I tried to buy the Fate/Extra CE, since it's cheaper using the 50% discount than at Amazon. Shipping was $5 so the final price ended up being more than Amazon's price. If I add another game, shipping goes to $20.:whistle2:S

But for :ps3: Agarest War Zero, it's a great price since Amazon is sold out.

They had a much better sale two years ago where many of the games were cheaper than Amazon and they also added free swag as well. Oh well....
