Ive been searching on the internet today trying to find out if a Japanese Super Famicom would work on US TVs and US outlets..  I havent had much luck, been finding answers that contradict each other.  Anybody have any insight on this topic?

I plan on hooking the Japanese Super Famicom to a 90/00s CRT and plugging it into a normal US outlet, will I run into any problems?

Also, I dont want to mod my current US SNES by breaking the guides inside the console.

You can get a game genie, mod that  and play import with no problem.

The power source is not an issue, as most power supplies from that region will work just fine. If you use the RF, you must get a TV with high channel numbers. (It uses some channel over 100 as I recall, but you should be able to find that online.) AV cables are best.

Thanks for the help guys, I am going ahead and buying one.  Glad to hear no real problems with hooking it up a US setup.  Now just need to find one for a decent price without outragous shipping.

Also, the SNES/Gamecube/N64 av cables also work?
