Jaspers - How reliable are they?

CAGiversary!
So, I just picked up a new 360 with the Jasper unit. The store sells a two year warranty for $80. I have two weeks to buy the warranty if I want to. The store is Best Buy. I hear their warranty service sucks. I hear that if you bring a broke console up there, they send it to microsoft for two-three weeks for repair, and if MS can't repair it, they give you a new console.

I went through NINE regular xbox 360's, the launch models, through microsoft warranty service. The Jasper Xbox 360 that I just got seems to run MUCH cooler. So, has anyone had a jasper RRoD? Is the warranty not worth getting? I didn't get it...but I have two weeks to go back and get it if I want.

Well, the 3 years is for RRoD only. Otherwise, the warranty is just for one year. Of my nine consoles, only ONE of them was a RRoD. Most of them just stopped displaying video or froze up while playing games. One, the dvd drive wouldn't open.

My Jasper runs way cool, so I don't think I've ever worried about it. To the touch, my Jasper Arcade unit feels cool even after long gaming sessions. I'm not overly worried about the RROD actually, but its only a year old, so I have 2 years for that warranty.

No piece of electronics is perfect, chipset or not. For everyone that says Jaspers don't RRoD, there will be someone else who had one that did. It's all anecdotal.

I personally couldn't justify spending 40% of the cost of a new console on an extended warranty.
