JC-Penny Wii Orders Cancelled!!

Vergeofinsanity

CAGiversary!
:bomb: Daaam i am heated.. I should have saw this coming.

So I just got a call from JC Penny saying that my order cannot be filled and was to be cancelled. Ordered it online over a month ago. Seems like whoever their supplier was, shorted them or what not. Greaaat now I can join the rest of you guys in this dam treasure hunt. Any tips or hints on how to score this big ticket item for the holidays?! I am trying to get one for the g/f. I did somehow score a 60gig ps3..but not a wii.. just my luck. Hmm i may have to make a trade b4 xmas if I cant find this thing..

JCPenney? Really?? You mean the same company that last year put up a shady-as-hell 360 bundle that they significantly overcharged for?? Surely you jest!

I'm sorry to hear that, but this is not exactly what I like to call a "surprise".

It's a suprise because SOME people had their units shipped, the rest they canceled. They shafted some, and others got a nice gift. But this being my 5th online order is a bit of a peeve. I might have to bite at a bundle at this rate.

Watch the local retail stores for advertising that they will have them in stock, best buy, circuit city, target and toys r us have been holding their shipments for Sundays the past two weeks, I see no reason for that to change and these guys appear to be getting the biggest #s in shipment wise. Call around see if you can find a friendly manager who will tell you what size shipments they got on release and shipment 2, chances are the big shipments will go to the same stores. Wait for an ad guaranteeing some and get in line 2-3 hours before opening. In my area (Frisco, TX a dallas suburb) an hour before opening has been the cutoff to getting them on Sundays.

At least at my local TRU and Wal Marts you have to ask for them. A Co Worker got a wii at Wal Mart around 6 in the afternoon only because he asked if they had them.

I was surprised when my acutally shipped, since I was expecting it to get canceled.

Anyway, I ended up giving it to my mother's friend for her son since I got one at launch.

Yeah, I'm going to have to start making some phone calls and trips to try n score one b4 xmas. What do you guys think about the supply once xmas is over? I remember the xbox 360 was still hard to find well into march..

I have a feeling we're going to see a flood of systems right before xmas. There is no way that Nintendo can ship 4 million before the end of the year without having a ton of systems waiting in the wings.

Great...like I need more people out there hunting for my Wii. Damnit, I'm getting one this Sunday even if I have to beat up a 10 year old.

Sorry to hear that. It was up for a very long time though. I wouldn't have expected them to be able to fill them all. I would have been shocked if they did.

I suppose the upside to this is that JC Penney is still massively stocked in mom jeans. Should be available throughout the holidays.

yeah i should call on sunday i had some managers tell me crazy stories. Like toys r us says they get huge boxs of shipments and they dont know whats in them until they count!!! I replied "LOL THATS TERRIBLE BUSINESS" But the other places just say no and i dont know everytime. I'll try again on sunday.
