Did anyone else see this? Man, did he look squirrelly! I know people get nervous on TV sometimes but for someone who has been "reporting" from the White House for the last couple of years, he looked petrified. I think he blinked a few thousand times too.

Anyway, he seemed very uncomfortable answering any questions honestly so I'm not sure why he agreed to do the show. Bill kept asking him about the male escort website and "Jeff" got off a good line about most reporters prostituting themselves after they became journalists.

It looks like he's 14:59 into his fame.

Edit: Here's a link to the video.

Yeah, I saw it. He really didn't answer any of the questions.
I watch Real Time with Bill Maher every week. Love that show. I think if more people watched it, this country would be a better place.

Agreed. He's getting some very interesting guests. Alan Simpson was hilarious last week.

I watch it just to get a good laugh at the democrats patting themselves on the back.

Formula for success:
1 Ultra Liberal Host
2 Liberal Guests
1 Semi-retarded person who claims to be a Conservative
100 Person Liberal audience

=Must see TV!!!

Bill Maher is a foul-mouthed Chris Matthews. Both hosts obviously have an agenda, and will use their title of "Host" to further it.

I, for one, think that shows like that actually divide our country, not make it a better place.

If you actually watched the show, you'd know Bill Maher is not exactly Ultra Liberal, he has credible Conservative guests and he often calls out the audience for ganging up on Conservatives.

Real Time is also better than Crossfire, Chris Matthews or Hannity & Combs because is not a mutual shoutfest that only has time for quick soundbites then a cut to commercials. Guests get to finish a thought for a change.

Yeah, its pretty clear from your post that you don't watch the show. He busts on the Left just as much as the Right.

You should give it a chance. At the very least, its entertaining, and at the most, you might learn something. ;)

Oh my dear God...

I can't turn the show off. I even watch re-runs. You've got to understand that you are watching it through a different set of glasses than I am. Just because I don't like him doesn't mean I don't watch the show. You assume too much.

"You might learn something."

By that comment you assert that I am a political nitwit. Which that might very well be your view of me. However, I consider myself quite informed. I am informed enough to know why I make my decisions.

Lastly;
You cannot sit there and seriously think that Bill Maher gets Conservative guests, who can actually defend themselves. Anyone in their right mind can watch 5 minutes of the show and tell you exactly what angle they are trying to push. On occasion, Maher will tell the audience to respect a conservative guest. That gesture is then followed by a ten minute rant on how stupid Bush is.

Please someone seriously tell me if I'm crazy.

You're crazy. :)

These are some of the Conservative "lightweights" from the show that you think can't defend themselves: Richard Perle, Bill O'Reilly, Christie Whitman, Tucker Carlson & Tommy Thompson. If these people can't defend Conservatism, who can?

And of course he goes on rants about Bush because he's the current president. He went after Clinton too when he was in office (just not for Monica-gate because it was silly and Maher is obviously pro-blowjob). He has even given Dubya props lately for how Iraq is turning out. I can't say I agree with that position, but you can hardly call Bill a knee-jerk liberal.

You say you watch the show all the time, but I don't think you're getting it. It's much broader than a liberal rant-fest.

Every host has an agenda. Get more ratings, make money, be famous...those are all agendas. If someone has a show and uses it to make crackpot statements about a group, then either that is what the people want (unfortunately) or they won't be around for long.

I said seriously...:shame:

By your classification, Rush Limbaugh is the Conservative version of Maher. Before you go on the defensive, please note that you're sitting on the liberal side of the fence. I, on the other hand, am sitting on the conservative side. Most of what we're discussing is completely based on perspective.

I would never insult Bill Maher by calling him the Rush Limbaugh of anything.

I am well aware of which side of the fence I'm on but I fail to see how that means that the conservatives on Real Time can't defend themselves. They can and do. If all he had on there was the chattering class of Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter, I would agree with you. But he has much smarter guests than that.
I just wanted to mention that Bill Maher is a Libertarian and not a Democrat in case any of you didn't already know that.
Is that why he told Susan Serandon, "We need to give up. We lost"

This was concerning the election.

He voted for Kerry this past election and he voted for Nader (Green Party) in 2000. Just because you're registered with one party doesn't mean you can't vote for candidates from other parties. As for Susan I believe she is a Green but voted for Kerry. Not 100% sure with her though.

So, I guess anyone that voted against Bush during the election is automatically a democrat?

Nope they're a Liberal.

Seriously though Maher probably said that because Bush has given common sense Republicans and Libertarians reason to vote for Kerry ever since Iraq. Bush's zealous overspending, pandering to the Religious Right and "turn back the clock" stance on most things have turned a LOT of people off.
