Jericho Season 2: Jericho NUKED AGAIN...Series Finale Tonight
the ratings it gets againsts the shows in its timeslot......it seems to be a consistent #2 whenever I see it.....not super great......but enough to keep the show alive somewhere.
:wall:

What I was saying is name the other shows that have been on at the same time? THERE IS NO COMPETITION! Because of the writers strike nothing else is on. They are losing to what? They should be the number 1 show and CBS knows that. Of course CBS is too stupid to put the show on at a better time.

I do think it will be canceled and they will talk to other networks for a pick up, but I doubt they will be picked up. Invasion was going to go to The CW but they didn't have the money. Sadly I think the last hope for the show will be Sci-fi Channel if the repeats are doing well, but they also show repeats at 10pm!

I just realized that this President Tamachio is George Newburn... the guy who voiced Superman in the JL/JLU animated series!!!

Good news? Maybe?

Here's what tvweek.com had to say:

"
“Jericho” slipped 18% from last week, ending up with a 1.8, while “Big Brother” stayed just about on par with its previous season average with a 2.5. CBS was third for the night with a 2.1.
“Jericho” fans, take note: Nielsen Live Plus 7-Day just came back from “Jericho’s” season premiere from three weeks ago, and DVR views spiked the 18- to 49-year-old ratings by 15% (2.6 to 3.0). That season premiere was also streamed about 700,000 times from CBS.com during for the first two weeks it was available (Feb. 12-25).
CBS is taking note of the digital views, so please hold off on a second round of nut bombing for now."

Apparently the DVR and internet ratings are really good. CBS is "taking note" of that. Still some minute hope for next year.

a 3.0 in the target demo with the dvr is still bad numbers...and overall 1.8 is ugly...700k digital views is not enough to save it...quarterlife pulled in a 2.6 or so and it was cut after 1 episode...people should stop worrying about it as thte only thing that is going to save this show is the fact the strike occured and new pilots didn't get made/greenlit for next fall.

Lets look at some facts...The network didn't want to bring it back...they only brought it back to show that they listened to the fans...they put a challange out to the fans saying to get others to watch it, as the show needs better numbers to continue...the 2nd season is either the same or lower then the first seasons numbers. The last rating up have them losing to primetime and beating new pilot episode of quarterlife, which got pulled

I don't understand why people aren't getting it stop trying to look at the numbers as being good at being 2nd out of 3, and get others to watch it if you really want to save it.

I'm one of the ones who, as you put it, "get it" because I believe the show won't be picked up again by CBS. However, it's still a small bit of somewhat positive news that I thought people may want to hear.

I've been watching if from the start and I often thought that maybe the whole senario might be a bit too realistic for some to get. I mean the whole premise of this could have some potential with the way our country has gotten.

For example the security firm "Ravenswood" is very similiar to the "BLACKWATER USA" located in North Carolina

And we all know Corporations control much more than us common people know, no one wants to wake up and realize it.

Even the media is controlled by corporate ( its a wonder how CBS even got to air it)

sure the acting is not top rate and the story is ok,
its suppose to just be a bunch of mid-westerners, not actors put into a life altering scenario

over at the wiki site, they posted the titles for the rest of the episodes including what could be the series finale/season finale

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Jericho_episodes

Termination for Cause
Jake and the rangers barricade themselves in the hospital to protect Mimi, whose life is in danger because of what she knows about Goetz.

Sedition
Following the Rangers ' decision to take justice into their own hands, Major Beck goes to extreme measures to prove he's in complete control of the town, while Hawkins receives a call from Chavez telling him that it's time to transport the bomb.

Patriots and Tyrants

Tonight's episode was a really good one.

I fuckING KNEW J&R was behind all this and that Tamachio was part of J&R ...so in other words J&R controls the government.

I am glad Goetz got what was coming to him after what he did. Too bad we will never know why he stole that $10,000. I thought he was going to be arrested and I had the feeling that Stanly was going to kill him and thought he was going to back out at the last second, but he offed him anyways. Wow I didn't know he could do that...but I guess if someone kills your sister and shots your future wife, your gonna want to do something.

There is so much of the story to tell............

Come on CBS, give this show another season!

Good news.

It's more likely that Jericho will get a third season than October Road.

Bad news is neither will.

My problem at least with the previews for the next (final) 2 episodes is that jake is talking about a revolution...really a fucking revolution REALLY? The developers said that they will end this season with the ability to say it was a show finale, and it would still have the ability to continue on. You have 2 episodes to potentially wrap up the show, and you have phrases of a revolution..

this weeks episode was ok...the whole entering into the hospital want to be built up and super suspenful took too long...if they needed time to fill for an episode, focus on what the army was doing in newburn..overall it moved the story along nicely..but it could have been wrapped up in a 30 min tv show, not an hour long one.

Agreed you can't start and end a revolution within 2 episodes. My guess is that if CBS says no to Season 3, then they will show the one of the two filmed episodes for the series finally. We could see either a text epilogue or a voice over describing the events to come.

while i like your ideas if the show wasn't to come back, I don't think they will have made a decsion in the next 2 weeks though

you know what i take that back....i guess they have filmed 2 endings, and the network will have to make the call by then..

They filmed two different last scenes.

And CBS is going to cancel it unless it makes some deal like NBC did with FNL and one of the L&Os. However NBC is a fourth place network and CBS is the number one network.

not to go off topic..but is nbc really last? I know fox has americain idol..and 24 puts up solid numbers (that have been dropping)...house is great, but doesn't have that big of numbers...the majority of there shows are in the bottom 3 every night (if you include nbc and cw)

NBC loses to Fox a lot of the time.

The only time NBC does well is when they show Deal or No Deal for 10 hours a week. The other week there was that web show dealing with bitchy college students shown on NBC, the ratings were so bad The CW almost beat NBC.

Truly sad.

besides hereo's they really don't have any mega hits..but they have a decent stable of shows that pull in decent numbers...besides a couple of decent rated reality shows, they do have the law and order stable

Tonight's episode was really good.

what a twist...

-"john smith" was actually the mastermind behind the attacks using everyone.

-Him turning on Hawkings like that.

-The A.S. Government now has the bomb.

-Jake having those visions with his Grandfather.

-The revolution starting from Jericho.....

Predictions on next week's episode, which is most likely the series finale.

-Chavez comes to Jake and Hawkings rescue with air support.

-Mayor Anderson returns to find his town abandoned...most likely the citizens have left to help fight the A.S. Government.

-Hawkings dies.

-The bomb's timer is some how activated (probably by Smith) but Jake manages to stop it before it detonates.

-Texas joins the OSA(or eastern states) in the fight against the A.S.

-Valente escapes somehow.

-The A.S. start the civil war by trying to invade Texas.

-The final scene will probably be the sunset scene with Stanley and Mimi at Bonnie's grave.

-A voice over narrative will outline the events to come.

Online reports are indicating that we will get the cliff hanger ending instead of a closure because CBS does not want the Nut campaign to happen again. They will say nothing about the return of Jericho in the fall and make no announcement about the cancellation.

I am really hoping the online reports are wrong, but we will find out soon enough.

haven't watched it yet...but in regards to your online reports about the fall, a lot of shows haven't had anything determined for there future yet...a lot of shows with better numbers then jericho but new leaders in the networks don't want these particular shows around as they won't get credit for it...the one really good thing jericho has going for it, was the extended writters strike...very to few if any pilots for the fall season got to get off the ground and start any work...due to the lack (any?) new shows for next season, the amount of shows the network can chose from is slim picking...they can either keep jericho, go with a reality show, or go with a show that has been sitting on there shelves long enough with not enough desire to air it wasn't even shown during the strike, or the network was able to grab a show or two and jericho was one of the first to go.

The strike ended soon enough that they can still get enough pilots for the fall season, Jericho is screwed, and dead.

I still don't see why they can't move it to some other channel or make a deal like NBC did with FNL and a L&O.

that is not what the tvguide podcast has been saying (not in regards to jericho, but on most bubble shows) By the time the strike ended, most pilots should have been written, the shows shot and be close to being pitched to the networks...The upfronts (where the networks show there schedules) this may I am pretty sure have been cancelled. I really don't think there a many new shows in the pipelines...and to be honest with you if the strike taught the networks anything, reruns and reality pulls in similiar numbers

Just because the up fronts are canceled doesn't mean there won't be pilots. The so called 90210 spinoff is being made, Cunbid is being remade, there is a lawyer show from the House people being made.

There are a lot of pilots and new show pick ups. And to be honest Jericho's numbers are horrid and CBS doesn't need more than 3-4 pilots tops because they already have such a large line up that does shockingly well.

isn't the house lawyer show already on the air...cantebury law

no argument about jericho numbers not being where they need to be to stay on the air..but I think you are grossly overestimating how many shows have been made......and the 90210 spinoff is a cw show...they are the bottom of the barrell, so a half assed pilot could get ok'd. I don't think jericho is coming back...i do think their chances of coming back have improved greatly due to the strike...

the upfronts are huge..it is a BIG press event for the networks to showcase the lineups for the fall...this is where they start the push for there new shows...the stike ended earlier enough for the upfronts to still occur, the only possible reason it isn't, as there ain't going to be many changes going into next year..

also just because a pilot is done, doesn't mean it will ever air...they go thru a ton of shit every year to pick out the 5 - 10 new shows that they will put on the network...fucking according to jim is looking like it will get renewed, anything is possible

There still saying next week is the season finale rather than the series finale. Somewhat good sign? At least maybe getting picked up by another network?
There still saying next week is the season finale rather than the series finale. Somewhat good sign? At least maybe getting picked up by another network?
Like I said before, I think CBS is doing that on purpose because they don't want another nut bombing. They are going to leave us hanging and this time IGNORE our pleads for the 3rd season. Sci-Fi might swoop down and rescue the show for a 3rd season since I guess they are testing the ratings on the network to see if it's worth porting over to the network.
so that means watch it on Sci fi if you want it to continue
Actually

-Buy the season 1 dvd (check)
-Watch Season 1 again on Sci-fi (check)
-Write/Call CBS/Sci-Fi (going to do that this week)
There still saying next week is the season finale rather than the series finale. Somewhat good sign? At least maybe getting picked up by another network?
Means nothing.

Treshold, Invasion, every 1 season show, all ended with "season finale". It just sounds better because if it said "series finale" then people want be expecting closure, and Jericho will not be getting that.

Series finale means a bolster in the ratings department though especially on a show with Jericho's track record.

I don't believe Threshold or Firefly ever had a season finale. FOX/CBS just out right cancelled it towards the end before they could air the final episodes of the season. That's why on the DVD you see a "Never before aired" on the last few episodes on the box set.

i finally watched mondays episode ....i thought it was ok...looks like they are spending a lot of there budget on next weeks show...

This week's episode was laying the ground work for things to come.

Jake's visions were preparing him to become the leader of the upcoming revolution and accept his role.

The rangers have begun capturing weapons and supplies needed to begin to overthrow the A.S. government.

Seeing how the town looked empty, it is suspected that most of the town's population has left and preparing to fight.

I think New Bern will join Jericho in the fight against the government that will spread to other towns.

If a season 3 were to occur, we will see the beginnings of the civil war between the A.S. and U.S. with the resistance fighters helping the U.S.

I never said Firefly. ;)

You are right about Threshold, it never ended. However Invasion did say "season finale" and it sadly never returned. Frankly Invasion deserved an ending more than Jericho.

A little off topic but that show is already doomed to the Friday night slot, so it's dead.

The House Lawyer show can be found here...
It most likely will be on the DVD.

Bye-bye... again...
Well at least they can do is give the ok for a novel to cover the events that occur after the finale.

Maybe in the series finale the new last scene will be Jericho being nuked.

they should bring the dude from Max headroom to nuke it like he nuked Las vegas in stephen kings THE STAND.

Speculation of tonight's final episode of Jericho...

-Hawkings will die.

-The bomb will NOT be used.

-Jake and Chavez will team up to finish what Hawkings started and to expose the conspiracy to the rest of the country.

-Phase 3 operation will be the army's abandonment of Jericho, followed by some sort of bombing of the town leading to it's destruction.

-Jake will transport the bomb via the jet (as seen in the teaser) and get intercepted by A.S. fighters but saved at the last moment by US/Texas air force fighters.

-Both Jericho and New Bern will put their differences aside and work together to fight the A.S. Government.

-The A.S. will invade Texas and the U.S. will intervene, leading the A.S. to fight a 3 front war against the U.S., Texas, and the resistance movement within the A.S. States.

-The Jericho/New Bern alliance will inspire other towns/cities to fight back.

Technically "Firefly" did have an finale. Except it was called "Serenity" and it was an feature movie.

That final episode was just....wow...
Well it looks like Eric Green stood by his morals and turned down Constientino's offer.

Major Anderson's return to an empty town and the look on his face was humorous like "hey where is everyone?"

I am surprised that Beck decided to defect.

"Smith", and the rest of the villains got away.

I was also surprised that Jake and Hawkings managed to survive the whole ordeal. I was expecting Smith to be driving that ambulance in the final scene.

The Texas government now has the bomb, what are they going to do with it now. It doesn't connect anyone with the attacks, unless they have Hawking's laptop....but Beck and company has it.

Bonnie's burial and the last scene with Stanley and Mimi made me cry

The ground work has been laid for more stories....wiether it turns into Season 3 on another network, a made for tv movie, a theatrical movie, or even novels...

that was probably the best series finale I have seen in years, even better than that crappy ENT series finally we got a few years ago.

I don't think anything can top this show's finale.

:applause::applause::applause::applause::applause:

Pretty good episode. They didn't wrap everything up, but kind of like the Angel series finale it felt satisfying enough while letting you draw your own conclusions about things that weren't show on screen.
WTF?!?! That sucked!
honestly what did you expect? Another gun battle with it going to black out?

I am thinking that the other ending (the season finale version) would go to black and end the episode at the point where the A.S. Fighters are about to open fire on Jake's airplane....then if CBS was going to pick it up for the fall, we would have had to speculate what happened over the summer.

Hawking's plan of using the Texas Embassy as a safe haven from the A.S. Government was brilliant. I think I read somewhere that if an embassy were to be attack, that country can declare it as an act of war since that embassy is the other country's soil, even though it's actually in another location.

So wait, this series ENDED again? That sucks, since I was just finally getting into it. Admittedly, I rarely watch serial tv anymore, but it definitely looked intriguing. At least they didn't pull a SciFi/Farscape on the series and switch it around 90 times until it was in the most horrid timeslot imaginable or show 2 episodes and not show any for 6 months to a year.
