Alright folks, here's your update:
Last Tuesday, I was all set to go, I had my main accomplice ready to go, and my brother had been gung-ho all weekend and had committed to the project. Tuesday comes I talk to him before I leave work, and the dumbass is at the doctor's office. Ok, no big deal I guess, he should be done by 6:30, right? Wrong! I talked to him every half hour from 4:30 til 6:30 and even later, and the asshole was still at the doctor's office. I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised as he's a flake and totally unreliable.
Wednesday morning comes and I wake up with this crazy headache, I think nothing of it... the day goes on the pain gets worse spreads through my face and neck, very odd. I was taking codeine pills and they did nothing, so I spent the next couple days in bed.
This week rolls around, time to get back in gear, I recruited a new accomplice! Well things went wrong again I'm afraid.
We went there and things instantly started off wrong. They had some giant bastard standing at the door checking people before letting them in. I found that quite odd, but we got out of costume and simply told them we were there to see "Troy" at Primerica and he let us pass.
Down the winding stairs we went, got set up and things seemed like they might work out, but our downfall was the long ass hall-way to the office doors. The owner of the office came out as soon as he saw the banana in costume and got *pissed* He would have none of the banana, the monkey or the cameraman. We kept the camera rolling and off to the side to prevent him from attempting to confiscate the device, but in retrospect I wish the camera had been kept on this guy.
Anyway, the video has poor audio, and you'll have to crank up your volume to hear it, but you can mostly make out what the guy is saying and some voices in the background. I hate to say it, but I kept silent as the guy was definitely on the verge of calling the police, what a pity. The video ends with the banana giving the guy the finger, but of course with the shoddy camera work, that isn't caught on film.

After we were escorted from the building, we attempted to save face with some much better footage of the banana asking why they wouldn't let him be their top banana. The video is short, but at least it gives you an idea of what was supposed to happen.

Sorry to let you all down, I tried, but my novice video skills were thwarted by Primerica. I'm not sure when, or where, but I will attempt something of this nature again. The Top Banana must have a good video. I'm going to fabricate a resume to start putting in with all the shady businesses in the area in the hopes of getting more interviews.
The new idea is to simply get a hidden camera, and then just go into the interview wearing the banana suit and act as though it is completely natural. Time shall tell, and again I apologize for not being able to produce a more successful video.

Again, I apologize for not coming up with a better video guys, but I had to quickly weigh my options and as pissed as that guy was I didn't want to risk anything that might get me arrested until I was out of the building.

This seems like what some punk teenager would do. The OP was damn lucky that guy didn't call the cops on him, because it would be considered creating a disturbance. Also lucky that he didn't get his ass kicked or robbed.
Whether or not it was a scam, it was just a BIG WASTE of time. Sure he got our attention for about a week, building all this suspense and so on but in the end the entire thing fell apart from the beginning. I would have just given up as soon as the brother pulled out. Yes I would have never done anything like that in my life, thank god because if I was busted for this shit..it would be on my record and the public school system nor the government would NOT HIRE ME if I had this shit on my record. They look into EVERYTHING during the hiring process. With beefed up security and background checks, getting a good clearance to work on projects can be a bitch.

Having the balls to do something doesn't automatically make it funny and that's why I wouldn't do it. Its just a wierd stunt that kinda made sense and was slightly amusing because of how serious the primerica guy took it but overall its not something that's going to gain internet fame because its just not funny enough. I know, I felt lame and like a punk teenager due to the poor execution of the project. I was indeed a little concerned the guy might call the cops, but this asshole had been calling me asking me to come, and there was nothing that said you couldn't wear a banana suit. My main concern though was the monkey mask, because masks are generally frowned upon by the police.
This is just a dumb comment. There were three of us, the guy was your typical short, scrawny, angry man and what exactly was he going to rob from a banana?
How is this a waste of time? My friends and I had a great laugh, and we went out to Buffalo Wild Wings afterwards for 40 cent wings and to plan our next mis-adventure.

Nope, not really even worth a second viewing if you ask me, which is too bad. We've made our mistakes though, and I plan on finding ways around them for future videos. I have nothing lined up presently, but I've heard about people that protest outside the places that have all those live turkeys in a pen for Thanksgiving.
I make no guarantees this time because I don't know where these people are located, but I'd like to have the banana show up to *help* them protest. Only instead of holding a sign that said something like "Say no to Turkeys", the Banana would naturally be protesting eating Bananas.
I firmly believe that even the people who own the property where the turkeys are would be in favor of having someone protesting the protestors, and obviously protestors aren't going to call cops.

Well just be lucky you weren't id or there wasn't a security camera watching.. If there was, they could have screwed you over by turning the tapes over to the police or the local news station with a statement saying "if anyone knows the identity of these individuals please contact your local police department.."
As for the videos... the reason why I didn't like them because they were so sloppy. We couldn't see your full outfit, we didn't see the guy's face... we didn't see the company/building you were going to prank. It would be nice to have had some sort of set up in the beginning. You lost the punch line of the prank. Sorry, not even America's Funnest Home Videos would take this...
Next time plan it better. Give us more videos, different camera angles and so on. Check out the shit that Mega64.com does.

I fully agree. We did plan though, we went in ahead of time and checked the place out, found all the exits, and saw there were no cameras. This was a relatively old building, with a renevated office downstairs that they were using.
As for the videos themselves, again I agree. They just didn't capture much at all. I think filming something outside during the day will really work better with the little video recorder I have. I'm not pleased with the first effort, so I want to do more. I believe this one was doomed from the start, as Primerica was a more legit company then I had envisioned. If I go with the job interview again, I'll apply with one of those door to door guys that advertise they're going to make you a manager someday. These are all over Michigan, and would be very easy to get an interview. I like the idea of the banana trying to help people, but failing miserably better though.

I didnt follow this thread at all because I didnt thing anything would come of it. I am glad I didnt because it would be like playing Superman 64 all over again.
Nice Try better luck next time is the most I can say.....the really crappy camera work makes it worthless because that could be anyone yelling at you in 1/4 of a hallway that you showed. Not that I dont believe that the person yelling is indeed a worker but without you thinking to yourself I should shoot his guy face for even a second leaves that doubt.

I dont know....187 post over almost a month of planning for about 30 seconds of sideways arm and carpet and low audio (although funny) is just plain dissapointing. You plan this for under a month and you completely pussy out under pressure by shooting theing ground the entire time.
I really hate to say because its now getting scary but I agree with Brak.
The video is just one of your friends getting cussed out in a banana suit...without saying anything....and you acting like a 5 year old girl by staring at the ground the entire time.
Good thought...but I myself can not give you any credit for it. The only thing this thread is good for was ITDEFX completly and utter over reaction to it.
Nice Try better luck next time is the most I can say.....the really crappy camera work makes it worthless because that could be anyone yelling at you in 1/4 of a hallway that you showed. Not that I dont believe that the person yelling is indeed a worker but without you thinking to yourself I should shoot his guy face for even a second leaves that doubt.

I agree nice build up, Too many things went wrong and he had plenty of time to abort and re-plan this, but he did it anyways and that's why it failed.. I blame the camera man for not recording as soon as they started walking into the building.

He wasnt even in the suit.
