A moment of silence...

From the original John Tenta wrestling topic:

The Earthquake still is one of my all-time favorite "bad guys". As many of you may know, John Tenta is currently going through chemotherapy treatments for his cancer. Cancer is something that hits very close to home for the Horse, so I felt that John Tenta was worthy of carrying on the new wrestling topic. I was very tempted to do a tribute to one of the many wrestlers that recently passed away; however, I decided to instead raise awareness for one of the greats while we still have him.

Words cannot express the over-whelming sorrow I feel at this time, John Tenta was truly one of the "good guys" of this world. He will be sorely missed by all of the wrestling community. My deepest and most sincere condolences go out to the Tenta family and all of those who knew him well.

Damn shame about Earthquake losing his battle.

He was a great guy.

I met him a few years ago when he was pimping his wrestling school on the radio. They were doing a sort of a live Tough Enough in the parking lot of a bar.

He actually put on a tag match with some of his trainees after they went off of the air. It was amazing watching him do the splash. He was hitting the ropes so hard the ring was actually moving.

I wonder what will happen to his wrestling school now.

RIP. Earthquake was always my favorite wrestler on the old WWF arcade game. I knew that he had been having problems recently. I, for one, am sad to see him go.

If he is not in the HOF already, he should be at the top of the list next year.

Not unexpected, but damn tragic nonetheless. What's sad is the number of wrestlers that he outlived just by making it to 42 (nearly 43).

I hope this is one of many ZL appearances, though I can't say that I want such conditions to repeat themselves.

On with the news:

Two more WWE signings, both likely to the new ECW brand:

1) Justin Credible
2) Gangrel

The second signing, of course, lends credence to whispers that there is going to be an *ahem* "vampire" faction in the new ECW.

It's always sad to see a guy who entertained so many and is truly a nice guy (with a wife and kids no less) die at such a young age. Certainly not shocking news, but sad nonetheless. R.I.P. John Tenta.

Also, it's nice to see you back ZL, even if it may only be for this.

I've been reading Wrestlecrap for years, all his diary entries and such. This is just so sad.

www.wrestlecrap.com

RD Reynolds (who is actually a member of this site, as well) has written a really touching tribute. Everyone should give it a read.

I would love to see The Brood back. For some reason, I really like that gimmick, especially when the lights would go out and someone ended up getting a bloodbath.

Oh, and the possibility of the Impact Players teaming up for a few more matches is nothing to sneeze at, but I imagine everyone else will cover that one. ;)

I've been following the big guy over at wrestlecrap as well, he put up a hell of a fight when he was only supposed to last a year.

That card looks unbelievably weak.

Where's Sandman? Where's Mikey Whiplash? How about Mike Awesome, Justin Credible or even New Jack?

It looks more like a WWE show then an ECW show.
Mikey Whiplash?
who?

That t-shirt is pretty neat looking, but at the end of the day, it's still a wrestling t-shirt. It'd be even better with Cena and Edge taken off of it.
who?
Ugh, I'm an idiot.

I meant to type Mikey Whipwreck.

He should have been Tajiri's partner for the tag match at ONS2.
He's supposed to be coming out with Tajiri and Crazy, so perhaps he not in ring shape?
I thought they signed him as a wrestler though?
WWE vs ECW starts now, just a reminder bump.
First time in a looooooooong time I've made sure I watched wrestling. Last wrestling I watched was ONS1...might even actually order ONS this weekend :).

Looks like Lillian wasn't too badly hurt on monday. I wonder if she'll be announcing any more of Charlie Haas's intros anymore?

Oh well that's just fucking dandy. Why did WWE put ECW in the FX original show drama timeslot? That means, right now its either that or Rescue Me and later on it'll be The Shield. Raw has to be on at the same time as 24 and now ECW as The Shield/Rescue Me, that sucks!

Anybody else feel that the edge is lost from ECW (before it's even started)? Listening to Joey Style repeat company lines like "We respect ECW's cult like fans" is painful to hear. It's like they're trying to introduce/justify ECW or something.

The match seemed kind of WWE to me (and the fans were just aching to chant E-C-Dub, but there really weren't any good moments for it).

Plus, what's the deal with all of the ECW guys wearing the same shirt? Sucks the originality right out of everything.

I don't agree. This is actually going way better then I thought it would.

In fact, I have to say that was RVD's best match since he joined WWE. He just seemed so on his game (besides the barrier botch) and he actually threw in some new moves to his moveset.

I wonder if Randy has been working on his aim since he moved back to Raw what with the diva's search contest being right around the corner.

I agree... definately RVD's best match, and a hell of a match out of Rey.

With Randy Orton on Raw now, Smackdown is just over... how long until Batista or Booker T jump ship to Raw?
They finally let Stevie Richards come out in public!

Nice commercial for ECW.
We can only hope for a good stevie push... its long overdue

Wow... what a great women's match.

So far, the WWE stars have really stepped it up... I wish I could see matches like this every Monday on Raw.

Looks like Randy is on RAW now...wearing a raw shirt atleast....i know this has been said, but smackdown has like no one

Don't worry, Khali & Henry will carry Smackdown now :)

I think Rescue Me covered this topic last night....

since edge seems to want to hang out of the match until things have cleaned house, it seems like it would be great to see a Kurt vs. Edge ending with Hardy helping pull Edge out of the ring and joining ECW

Hilarious how the Smackdown people, except for Lashley, are all ridiculous midcarders, and the Raw team is top of the line people.

And that 3 SD people were elimanatied before 1 Raw person.

I'll be surprised if Edge doesn't end up in ECW by the end of the royale.

Edit: Ah nevermind, crappy build up with the "Edge on the outside" thing.

Edit2: Picked the wrong guy.
