CAGiversary!
Yep. Looking around at recent threads and posts, there's been some negativity. I know I've been just as guilty of it as everyone else, so I figured a thread dedicated to being happy and being nice to each other would be helpful. :)

Let's start it off on the right foot with the Happy Happy Joy Joy song!

Hello, boys and girls. This is your old pal, Stinky Wizzleteats. This is a song about a whale. No! This is a song about being happy! That's right! It's the Happy Happy Joy Joy song!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!
I don't think you're happy enough! That's right! I'll teach you to be happy! I'll teach your grandmother to suck eggs! Now, boys and girls, let's try it again!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!
If'n you aint the grandaddy of all liars! The little critters of nature... They don't know that they're ugly! That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumblebee! I told you I'd shoot! But you didn't believe me! Why didn't you believe me?!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Happy Happy
Happy Happy Happy Happy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!

Now be happy and be nice to each other dammit!! :) :) :)

You know, I don't think anyone's every really said it, but there are some rather nice retail clerks out there. They'll put up with people heaping coupons on, or coming up with deals to good to be true, but they very politely do thier job and make visiting those stores a pleasure.

It seems kind of odd that with all of the shopping everyone on here does that you really don't hear about all of the good service you get, but rather it gets bogged down in the negative of the situation, or the great service one recieved gets lost in ones excitement for getting a great deal.

For example, at the EB and Gamerushes close to my house, there are some really nice clerks that really do thier jobs well.. even times where I've gone in and just browsed, I don't think I've ever walked out of either store in a worse mode than when I went in.

I think that's actually better than them always having the great deal I want all the time... sometime having to hunt down that great deal is half the fun... and sometimes even more fun that the item you actually buy turns out to be.
this is not the true JSweeney that we have come to love. Bah...It's an imposter, he wouldn't act this nice.
Quick, check the IP address. Someone's hacked into his CAG account!

This thread just wouldn't be complete without...

I love you, JSweeney!

*hugs*

EDIT: I double posted, but the first post was the sarcastic one. I think I'm entitled to a serious one too. :)

People tend to focus on the bad instead of the good, and that holds true for most aspects of life.

We've all had good experiences, but we don't share them. Maybe happiness is more fleeting than anger. Maybe society has taught us that bad events are more important than good ones. It could just be that bad days make better stories. In the end, we've got to remember that those are just isolated experiences. We'll have bad and good in our lives...we just need to focus on the good instead of the bad.

An EB opened by the Wal-Mart near my house a few months ago. Almost every experience I've had in the store has been good. I have yet to hear the clerks get mad at a customer or to see them not doing their job. Like JSweeney said, I'm usually in a better mood when I leave the store than I was in when I went into it.

I think it all comes down to perspective in the end, though.

There was this awsome clerk at Circuit City who was nice enough to hold Pikmin 2(with free shirt) for me after I had went to the 2 other local stores and found out they lied/didn't know they had none left in stock. When I called, he said they weren't allowed to hold items, but when I got there he had it in his drawer, just for me. He kicked so much ass.

The brighter the picture, the darker the negative.

I've just been going back and looking at posts over the pasts few months, and in general, the site is trending towards more negativity.
Perhaps it's the season change, or the elections, but in seeing that trend, I thought to myself... I said "Self, do I really want to be this negative all the time?"

The answer was no.
I figured, even if the rest of the board gets negative, this could serve as a bastion of hope and positivity. Kind of like an offshoot of the constantly evolving off topic topic, but more positive in it's outlook.

Yes the site has been a little more negative at times, but overall I think the wonderful moderator stuff (congrats sneakypenguin and stealthyseal) have governed the website alright. There are those though that will still ruin the fun of others.

Naw, JSweeney is pretty cool, he just seems, well...not nice sometimes because he fights the good fight with extreme prejudice.

More on-topic, I always have great experiences at EB and GameStop when I can get to them. One time I wore my CAG shirt to an EB and one of the female clerks, who was pretty easy on the eyes, gave me head. True story.

What good fight mihgt that be?? Sort of sounds Don Quixoteish (sp).

I wish that would happen to me at any store. Was it just becasue of the t-shirt? IF so I'm not wasting anymore time and buying one.

Stupid as this sounds...I'm beginning to look at my life because of this post. I'm too damn negative, and I don't like being this way. Maybe it's time for me to try and change that...

Speaking of cutesy crap, I bought a fuzzy Hamtaro piggy bank at the KB half off sale over the weekend. I have it on my desk right next to my computer, so for a good portion of the day I end up looking at this:

Little known fact: Hamtaro was actually my first avatar. But later I changed once I had my detachable penis back.

I woke up this morning with a bad hangover
And my penis was missing again.
This happens all the time.
It's detachable.

You suck and you smell bad. :p

What, I noticed the lack of hate over here... and figured I would keep it to a nice happy medium.

Seriously...why rain on the most optimistic topic in the history of CAG? Even I can't bring myself to do that...

Another picture of a cute and fluffy thing. We should make this a requirement for the thread...

Actually, that thing looks a bit scary. Have you ever noticed that people think squirrels are cute, but up close they're really just big rats with fluffy tails. I'm not really sure where I'm going with this.

In other news, this is my 500th post. I'd like to thank my job, where I've been stranded at the client site for the last three months, making this possible.

Edit: I was referring to the pic posted by Gothic_Walrus, but sbly posted while I was typing.

Being stranded at work and forced to hang around your phone/pc does tend to lead to large spurts in the number of posts one makes, doesn't it?

Oh there are days, when skies are grey
And everything goes wrong
When I start yelling, "Go away!"
And people say, "So long!"
When everything's in disarray
I'm right where I belong
When fun's away on holiday
This grouch must sing this song

I'm sad, because I'm happy
And I'm happy, 'cause I'm mad
And I'm mad, 'cause it sounds sappy
To be happy when you're sad

Yes there are days when skies are grey
And all the world looks yucky
When clouds and rain won't go away
And the road I'm on turns mucky
My feet splash in the mud, and hey,
My toes get wet and gucky
Yes everything just goes my way
I feel so gosh-darn lucky!

(The Grouch Choir joins in)

I'm sad, because I'm happy
And I'm happy, 'cause I'm mad
And I'm mad, 'cause it sounds sappy
To be happy when you're sad

Oscar: Everybody sing!

(sung in grand style)

I'm sad, because I'm happy
And I'm happy, 'cause I'm mad
And I'm mad, 'cause it sounds sappy
To be happy when you're sad

(spoken, with music still playing)

Oscar: Ah, I wish every day was like this!

Grungetta: Ah, me too, Oscie!

Oscar: Well, if wishes were garbage trucks, grouches would ride.

Grungetta: So true, so true!

Oscar: Let's just enjoy the moment. Yeah.

Who's that comin' from somewhere up in the sky?
Moving fast and bright as a firefly
Just when you think the trouble's gonna pounce
Who's gonna be there when it really counts?
Do the Care Bear Countdown
And send a wish out through the air
Just do the Care Bear Countdown
When you need them they'll be there
Don't be afraid when trouble's brewin' in your heart
If you can dream just send a wish out in the dark
And do the Care Bear's Countdown 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

It's always great to see CheapyD add more and more to the site isn't it?
The "In your face" columns seem like a great idea... they take the community nature of the site and run with it.

Even if responses to those get heated, it's contained in that special little ecosystem... sure hurt feelings and such will bleed over into the normal board, but having such a structured forum so such a discussion will likely lead to some great discussions that don't end up falling into the post+1 nature of some of the other discussion.

Looking at the good things that have happened today...

I managed to hand in the portion of the research paper that was due today early. The first time that that's happened this year. :)

One of my friends wore a sleveless shirt to school today, and she looked absolutely stunning.

I got to spend an hour playing with LEGOs in a class called "College Reading and Writing." God, I love our public education system...

The student teacher in my AP English class told me that my writing is already well beyond where it needs to be for college.

My mother decided to stop being an evil schizophrenic bitch (not an exaggeration, unfortunately), and bought "Aladdin" on DVD. It's my favorite Disney movie. :D

So...how good has your day been? :D
