9) LEGO HARRY POTTER: YEARS 1-4 WII - 136,000 (PR from Nintendo)

Notable games not in the top 10 that we know sold under 136,000 (could show up in numbers 11 through 20):

MGS: Peacewalker (out June 8th)
Transformers War for Cybertron (Out June 22nd)
Alpha Protocol (we know sold poorly due to Sega)
Backbreaker
Other SKU's for Toy Story and Lego Harry Potter
Tiger Woods
Green Day Rock Band

Singularity and Sin and Punishment 2 only came out on June 29th, so no surprise there... doubt they'll be on numbers 11 - 20 either.

Alan Wake had another disappointing month, most likely under 100,000.

11 - 20:

11. Pokemon SoulSilver
12. Transformers WFC 360 (132k)
13. NSMB DS
14. CoD MW2 360
15. FIFA World Cup 360
16. FIFA World Cup PS3
17. Mario Kart Wii
18. Pokemon HeartGold

Nice hardware sales across the board - They must have sold a nice amount of those Metal Gear Peace Walker PSPs for it to jump from 59,000 to 121,000 - though that probably helped in keeping Peace Walker out of the top 10.

Is this the first time either HD console has beaten the Wii? Can't recall if it happened on a Halo or Modern Warfare release month.

Do they break out the numbers by console bundle? I have to believe those good 360 numbers are due in large part to the $100 price point of the arcade.

Word on GAF from IGN's Jim Reilly is that Naughty Bear > Singularity > Sin and Punishment 2, in terms of sales.

Yea, Naughty Bear beat out both games. That's a real shame. Naughty Bear had more time at retail but it also got 3's and 4's.

The NPD tracked data up until July 3rd, so that's a full week for both games. The NPD's always make me sad.

Ugh, Naughty Bear was fucking bad.

Happy for Red Dead, though. Almost a million is great to see.

Sad about Alan Wake. What a great game falling totally under the radar. Disappointed about Peace Walker as well, but they're getting solid Japanese numbers so Konami probably isn't too distraught.

Just Dance won't die. :(

I'm interested to see how many copies Alan Wake has sold since launch. I just recently got the game this week, and it's pretty damn great.

CNBC's Darren Rovell said on Twitter that Tiger Woods (all SKU's) had a 68% drop in sales in June 2010 vs. June 2009.

Is it due to Tiger Woods frolicking being found out back in December, or people tired of the series?

Or it could be that it's the same rehash of a tired series, with 1-2 new features put in. Most people who enjoy golf games (that I've talked to), have moved on past Tiger's "problems".

Sony will probably pat themselves on the back for the commercials with the kid from Role Models for doubling the number of PSPs sold in May

I think MGS: Peace Walker bundles have more to do with it, since Marcus didn't start until mid-month, and I really haven't seen any of those commercials anywhere online other than the first two on the Sony blog.

I bought Peace Walker, the CE even. :( I also know CAG Joe2187 bought it w/o bundle, so there's two. :)

I was really hoping MGS would crack the Top 20. WOW at Tiger not even making the top 20. I think our hopes for another Alan Wake are probably dead in the water, unless sales of the DLC are through the roof, but remember MS gave the first one away with purchase.

Did the FIFA World Cup games come out in May or June?

April 27, 2010... so World Cup fever probably pushed those back up.

At this point, the PSP is completely dead in terms of software sales, and nothing is going to save it.

And yea, Alan Wake is pretty much done. Under 100,000 for month 2, it'll keep sliding further and further. MS sent this one out to die. But it could also be that, except for a few key games like RDR, people aren't buying new IP's at all.

What I noticed was the huge discrepancy between WFC for 360 and for PS3... remember that the 360 got the multiplayer demo, the PS3 got nothing, and it seems the PS3 community completely wrote the game off after that.

Lego Harry Potter is another one that is absent for 360 / PS3... but I think the core gamers are sick of seeing the same game reskinned time after time (I know I sure am).

Good lord Peace Walker did miserable. Stuff like God of War is the only type of stuff that hits the charts well for PSP in the West. Or maybe the world is like me and is just plain sick of MGS.

Software sales for PSP in Japan are unbelievable though.

Final Fantasy also does well with Dissidia: Final Fantasy and FF7: Crisis Core being the other PSP games to hit the charts in the past few years.

Well, I bought it for the PS3. I also got Toy Story 3 for the PS3 which I'm sure will never chart either.

My kids really enjoyed Lego Harry Potter and even my 13 year-old daughter who stopped playing games for the most part a few years ago got into it - the first game she's played much at all since LBP. Problem is, it has a game-stopping glitch that they do not seem prepared to fix based on some other boards I've been reading. If the sales on the PS3 and 360 are really poor that may explain why they are dragging their feet on the fix. I'm pretty sure the glitch effects all 3 platforms but apparently with the Wii version you can get out of it. I didn't play it but there is a place you get stuck in and can't progress from there, though you can go back and replay story and free play missions (just can't explore Hogwarts any more and get 100% completion). If you are careful and know about it in advance you can avoid it. In case anyone needs to know, just check the Gamefaqs board for the game.

I'm starting to think that someone is building a mansion out of Nintendo DSs. Where do they all go? Every person in America must have three by now.

I don't think a LEGO game has ever charted for 360/PS3, so there's no way to make any conclusions from Harry Potter not being there.
