Just Cause 2 or Red Dead Redemption?

CAGiversary!
Hello guys, I kinda locked myself in the closet the last couple weeks studying for my finals. Now that school is finally over, i'm ready to play some video games again. The two games that interest me the most is Just Cause 2 and Red Dead Redemption. I want to get both of them, but dropping $120 is bit too much for me. I would like to know which one you guys think is better?

They're both awesome but I'd go with Red Dead Redemption as it's story/presentation is a bit better (as well as the voice acting, the story, the gunplay) I love the setting too.

Just Cause 2 is great, and the sense of momentum and freedom you get, zipping and parachuting around the massive, massive environment is quite the thrill. The gunplay is kinda wimpy outside of stealing a missile-armed fighter jet.

Outside of Rockstar's offerings, Just Cause 2 I'd say is the best open world game this generation.

the biggest difference I see:

Just Cause 2 - single player NO ONLINE

Red Dead Redemption - Both Single Player and Multi-player w/ a Vast Online Spectrum of gameplay

Haven't played RDR. In JC2, there is a form of fast travel, in the form of getting a helicopter to extract you to some location on the map. But I prefer to 100% enemy airports, which means they no longer spawn there. So whenever I need to travel I drive to an airport and have my choice of choppers and jets waiting for me. Then I can fast travel with the advantage of firing a few missiles at random gov't establishments on my way to destination.

I have both JC2 & RDR,

RDR depending on whether MP or SP you can use Transport points (teleports basically) to points or waypoints you set to places on the map, but other travel is your Trusty Horse, or Stagecoach, Train, Wagon, carriage. Almost anything rideable (minus the model T's) are useable by your character you can sometimes take, or steal them and use them to travel, the map is fully accessible, sure some routes are blocked via terrain, but you can choose to travel over land, or routes (trails, roads) The speed you travel is related to your horse, fast horse fast travel, slow horse slow travel, but also you can't wear out a horse he has stamina. Basically the ways of the wildwest, I have to say It works, it is the most realiastic thing I've seen (I have Call of Juarez, Lead & Gold and this by far is better)

JC2, sure the modes of travel are faster, and modern, but it gets old playing by oneself, I think the mere plus is you can share the fun with other people if you want too RDR is better, (my opinion) much more replay in RDR

I have both and would say the better one is RDR. The whole atmosphere is just better with RDR. Don't get me wrong, they both are fun. But RDR is the better of the two. Pick up JC2 when it hits 20-30 bucks.
