Just Cause Demo - Aug 24th

For some really odd reason when I read the thread title I thought of Alan Wake, dont know why.

I'll try the demo, but I've never had too much interest in it, maybe it will surprise me.

From those vids, this really looks like a it's trying to take the concepts of Far Cry a little further... hopefully it'll have the gameplay to back those ideas up.
 
Oh shit, I remember this game now... apparently he'll always have that parachute and it factors in big time to the game.
 
I think it looks hoaky especially the vid where you jump from the cockpit of the helicopter straight up through the blandes to grab the back. I know its a small thing but stupid none the less.
 
Looks like the love child of Total Overdose and Far Cry. With parachutes. I'll definitely check out the demo based on those videos, and we'll see how it goes from there...!

Not sure I understand.. just because it's set in the jungle, that means they're "trying to take the concepts of Far Cry a little further"?

Far Cry = run and gun FPS
Just Cause = Free roam (apparently) third person action/adventure/stunt game.

Ugh those achievements are so boring... I can't wait for Crackdown with it's crazy achievements like "juggle a guy with a rocket launcher".
 
I was on EBgames.com seeing when the game comes out, and it looks like it will retail for 49.99.

Pretty nice. Unless a 360 game totally sucks, I'll pick it up for 39.99, so lets hope it doesn't suck and there is a sale.

It reminds me of Far Cry partially because of the jungle setting but mainly because there seems to be an emphasis on exploration as well as vehicles... with Far Cry (well, the PC game at least), exploration was definitely the biggest part of the gameplay and it looks as though Just Cause is taking the huge, explorable jungle theme and running with it. Obviously the games are different in terms of style, but from what I've seen of Just Cause, the core concepts remind me of Far Cry quite a bit.
 
Looks like Pursuit Force to me... can you actually walk around as the main character or do you only drive vehicles and hop from one to the other?
 
my friend that went to E3, he said he played this game for an hour on each of the E3 days and it was his favorite 360 game at the show(he's a PC gamer and doesn't like consoles that much). It looks awesome, im hoping it plays awesome >_
