Hey guys,
I recently purchased a BenQ E2200 22" monitor to use with my 360. I am using an hdmi -> DVI cable to connect, but when I fired up Halo 3 I noticed that I'm seeing a lot of jaggies (a lack of anti-aliasing perhaps?). I have the resolution set to 1280 x 720 and have messed with the monitors colors to no avail. Anyone have any ideas on why im seeing so many jaggies?

Thanks

If your monitor has a scaling option to do no scaling at all, 1:1, they I'd try that and see what the picture looks like then. If it still looks bad then you'll know it's the 360/game.

Halo 3 isn't full 720p, so it will scale up. I get a lot of jaggies on Halo 3 too. Try a different game. Hopefully that helps and try the 1:1 option mentioned above.

Most 360 (and PS3) games aren't full 720p, see the links below. Regardless of the games native resolution, the 360 has an excellent scaler. But most LCDs generally suck at displaying anything but their native resolution or very close to it. Try setting it to 1080p, hopefully the monitor can scale it down to 1680x1050 so you'll be playing at the monitors native resolution and the 360 will be doing most of the scaling

thanks[/QUOTE]

stick it in the pooper

Yeah I'd like to know this as well.

PICTURE ADVANCED --> DISPLAY MODE --> FULL/ASPECT

With 1:1 you'll be losing some screen real estate, but the picture quality will be much better without the scaling on your monitor. You might try getting a VGA cable and running 1360x768 since that is the closest supported resolution to your monitor's native resolution.

I tried the aspect ratio, but I ended up with vertical black bars on the sides, and the jaggies were still prevalent. I think it may just be the game

anybody have a good cheap reccomendation on a monitor thats widescreen and 19incher. Actually just an overall cheap good setup. I would also need some speakers that could possibly double for some ipod speakers.
