Just got my new Dreamcast VMU in the mail, questions.

I played MvsC2 and it saved, but when I turned my system off, the VMU was still on, I had to put it to sleep manually. Any way to stop this?

Also does it use batteries while in the controller? Or does it use the systems power?

the memory card does not use the batteries, but the VMU screen does

i believe the first wave of vmu's wont turn off automaticly...

and those suckers run out of battery fast!

Remove the batteries or slip that little plastic starter tab (if you bought them new/sealed) back into the slot.

The screen never really gets much use anyway. You will NOT lose your saves if the battery goes. Don't worry. If the battery goes, it goes. I don;t think I have one working out of the 10 I have. Unles you want to play mini-games (like in Sonic Adventure), don't worry about it.

There is a mod out there to add an adapter for AA batteries to it, but its a bit easier just buying cheap one online

Well, I always remove the batteries from my VMU's. You can always buy more Lithium CR2032 batteries for cheap on eBay...

OK, I removed the batteries. Works cool now And yeah I did buy it new but I threw the life initialization module out

Now I have a little plastic thingie with a manual, VMU top, and 2 batteries. uber l33t

I meant "that little plastic starter tab"

So what's the new version of the VMU that turns off when it's not in use? My Dreamcast makes a beep whenever I turn it on cuz the VMU has no batteries. My buttons are blue.. is that the old version? Does the new version have grey buttons?
