Justice League Season One $17.99 at Best Buy for Reward Zone Members (YMMV!)

Bobweiser

CAGiversary!
Not sure if this will work for everyone, but Best Buy has a sign in the Television section where Justice League is that lists Season One for $32.99, but lists Reward Zone members pay $17.99. I know there's a discrepancy with their price in the ad, but I know they were honoring this price at my store. I just want to emphasize this is extremely YMMV, but it's worth a shot to beat every other price I've seen for this set.

I looked around the store and did not see any signs saying 17.99, did the sign actually say 32.99 and rewards member price 17.99??

Thanks a ton man, I swung by the shitty new Best Buy during my lunch break and scored a copy. Of course it wasn't without incident.

I walked in and noticed they only had one cashier working, which I found odd, but the store only has three registers, so whatever. I got to the TV on DVD aisle and saw the DVD but I saw the sign prominently said "$32.99" so I figured no such luck for me. I went back to see if they had any copies of Batman Beyond for shits and giggles and noticed they used the exact same type of sign for that too, which had the Reward Zone price hidden in the black circle so I went back and sure enough there it was on JLoA.

So I take it up to the register, explain that the price on the aisle tag said it was lower, she takes the dvd and goes to consult as many of her co-workers as she can(with a nice line beginning to form) before coming back with the ad and saying it's $27.99 like I'm illiterate. I ask her if she saw the tag and she admits she couldn't find it(?) so I lead her to it and point out the 'hidden' text on the tag with the price. She tries to consults someone else but they're all gone so she takes it off the aisle to the register and just does a manual adjust(finally). It wasn't too bad though, I got it for ~$13+ after taxes thanks to a $5 Reward Zone cert.

Oh yeah, just to clarify, the tag is a circular thing on the aisle where the DVD regularly would be(not in the new release section) with a tab on the side hanging out so you can see it on the aisle easier. The Reward Zone price is hidden in the black circular area on the bottom.

Here's a rough sketch from memory:

It seems to me Best Buy should get some Quality Assurance, they did this same fuck-up a couple of weeks ago with Howl's Moving Castle and Totoro and last week they had the $20 XBL kit shit going on. I was actually fine with all that crap I had to go through because I'm used to it, but I feel bad for regular people that get fucked over and have really bad experiences with stores because trying to get them to play fair is like pulling teeth.

All that shit aside, thanks again OP, I wasn't even going to pick this up($30 was too much for me) but the price was too good to pass up.

OT: Anyone have any links to a review for this, I'd like to see how it scored on the major channels but I haven't been able to dig up anything. Thanks.

No worries. Glad you got in on this. Funny, I wound up getting it for the same price after another $5 RZ certificate. Your sketch was pretty dead on, too. Not bad going from memory. I'm pretty sure these signs come from an outside source, so I can't really blame BB on this, but that's not to say that it wasn't there mistake to begin with. I knew about the X-Box Live mistake last week and a few weeks ago they had another major screwup with Star Trek Enterprise seasons going for cheaper than their cost. Had a feeling this was going to cause a few problems at the register, but figured since they had it posted that people should take advantage. Love the show, but really, $27.99. Seems too pricey, but well worth it for $17.99. Goes well nice with my complete collection of Batman: TAS. Now just need someone to run a great price on the Superman Animated Seasons when Superman Returns comes out in a few months.

My friend got Tales From the Crypt: Season 3 for $17.99 from a similar mistake. They only allowed him to get it for that price since he found the error.
