There weren't to many items to speak of, but I believe this is like the Target clearance thread where it is per store. The items that I saw were:

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits-PS2-$15
War of the Monsters-PS2-$15
Perfect Dark-N64-$5 (major YMMV)
NCAA Gamebreaker 2003-PS2-$15

All of these were at the Las Vegas K-Mart.

Edit: title changed to K-Mart Clearance thread since so many people have said the have many of the same deals.

yea, mine is doing the same sale, but it also has bloodrayne for 2.99 and haven for 2.99 along with some other stuff i forget.

Note: bloodrayne has a 7 trade in at game rush, good deal if u ask me

I picked up Ico for PS2 for $9.99 at the Salem, NH location yesterday (8-3). i think this is a clearance, and for all the praise that this game got, seemed like a pretty good deal.

When I came to the stare, I saw Perfect Dark in their clearance section with a sign above it saying $5, and as i was rushing to pick one up, some guy took the last one. Oh well, maybe this notice will help others find the game.

I know that Arc the Lad and War of the Monsters were marked, as well as Perfect dark, but I don't know about bloodrayne since my Kmart had it for it regular price of $35.

Bout time. I've complained about how K-Mart runs their game department for a couple of years now or more. Maybe I can FINALLY get "Megaman: Battle Network" at that one K-Mart I saw it at for cheap.

You're wasting your time... Kmart's clearance games are all YMMV and then some. You could have 2 Kmarts in the same city with completely different selections. Plus most Kmarts don't seem to separate the clearance games, nor do the clearance games continue to drop in price. They also seem to all be really crappy games, remember Target has clearanced out games like Mario Party 4, Animal Crossing, Hitman 2 and Super Monkey Ball 2.

while whether they have the game(s) is ymmv, if they have the game(s), im pretty sure they're all at the same price...meaning if one store has a game for $1.54, all of them will have that game for $1.54...i may be wrong on this, but this is how it seems to be at the 4 kmarts that i went to a month ago when this clearance first started (as i knew, anyway)

i picked these up a couple days ago:
tiger woods ga tour 03 gc $2.99
ufc tapout 2 xbox $4.99
burnout 2 ps2 $9.99

i picked these up a month ago:
transworld surfing xbox $4.99 (now $2.99)
way of the samurai ps2 $4.99
shadow hearts ps2 $9.99
gundam f vs z ps2 $8.99
dungeons & dragons gba $4.99 (now .99)
pinball of the dead gba $4.99

i saw:
vexx ps2 $4.99
wipeout ps2 $4.99
commandos ps2 $4.99
ihra 2 ps2 $4.99

i saw a crap load more, but don't remember them...it seemed as if they were all pretty much the same games that cc had on clearance....also, armored core 3 was marked $49.99 nowhere near the clearance items and it rang up at $19.99....so don't doubt a games pricedrop just because the employees are too lazy to mark them down

I looked at 2 different KMarts in the NoVA area. They didn't have a thing. I did ask the mgr to scan Ico. He had to come to electronics because there was actually NO employee scheduled to work in that dept. I asked him to scan Ico. He did it begrudgingly, looked shocked, pressed a whole bunch of keys on the register and then told me it was $49.99.

KMart's not a good place to find games. If you can get help, you'll have to hope that they don't go changing the prices on you.

im assuming his shocked look was probably that the game was on clearance....then he told u $49.99, knowing you wouldn't want it then....then he bought it himself for the clearance price....im not sure if you were implying that he did that or not...but im sure thats probably what he did

I figured that's what he did. I'm sure he was the store manager, so I expected a little more from him. I'm not too disappointed, I could technically get ICO for free (I have $35 or so in Rewardzone GCs from BestBuy).

Trust, you're a brave man for going to all those KMarts. They're like prisons in there but the stuff you found seems like it was worth your hassle.

I was the electronics manager at K-Mart in a previous life. All stores get the same markdown list, but it is up to the individual department managers at each store to enter in the clearance pricing. I did this daily in hopes of cleaning out the old shit. Others did it once a month, because they were lazy and decided that complaining about how bad their job was was better than actually doing it. I can hardly bring myself to go into the store now, because when I ran the department, shit was tight, organized, clean. Now it just looks in total disarray, and don't even get me started on the game cases. "Let's proudly display the $49.99 copy of Rogue Ops, and bury NFL 2K5 so noone can even find it"

Rant over.

So does Kmart have special "clearance" areas for games randomly all over the store like Target, or is this thread essentially to identify the games that are marked wrong?

Ahhh, welcome to the ex K-mart electronics guy support group. a learning experince...thats all it was...

I saw Cel Damage for Xbox with $49.99 tag on it \:D/

I didn't see anything else of note a really pitiful selection.

If anyone could pick up a $1.99 SimCity 4, I'd appreciate it . . . I'd pay $8 for shipping and gas . . .
Is this a designated area away from the cased games? The kmart by me used to have one next to them, but now it's ninja vanished.
I know that at one of the K-Marts around me, they have a designated area that is right under the the PS2 games. At this same store you can sometimes find them outside of the case in a designated area or when they put it out on a table.

At another location, they have the games inside the glass case under their respective systems.

And at another one, they have it in a small glass case behind the cash register.

Today when I went to my K-Mart I find out that they also clearance out sometimes their guidebooks under their respective game consoles as well, such as Super Mario Sunshine.

Which K-Mart was this?

I went to mine and they had no clearnece

everything was 49.99 they even had a sign for 69.99 a wave bird and mario 4 new for gamecube and all i saw was ncaa 2005 for xbox for 30 *dead*

I thought that was 20 new?

I haven't checked my Kmart in a while. The last time I was there they had a massive PC clearance sale but not much in terms of console games.

When my local kmart closed they marked all of their games 10% off. I could get some of those games cheaper at Best Buy.

Which Kmart did you work at? A friend of mine worked at one on Haggerty about 6 years ago.

I saw 1 or 2 copies of
Contra advance: the alien wars EX for 14.99 (GBA)
is it worth picking up?

If you never played the SNES version, sure. It's classic that Konami has never been able to get right again.

I worked at the Novi for about a year until it closed (that sucked...more than anything has sucked before) and than another year in Union Lake. If anyone wants to learn respect for retail employees, they only need to work a weekend at a K-mart...

they had the wave bird seperately and I think that it was marked 20 new.

Of course nobody was in electronics and when we got some food they only had two lines, long wait.

I can't believe they haven't went out of business yet

they didn't even have pc games anymore ALL gone.

They are the only store on that side of the street, lol, everyone else has moved.

The good time recently ended at my local K-mart. THey used to have a distinct clearance shelf from which I purchased about twenty items in the last several months. Then, a couple weeks ago, they put everything in the the bottom of a display counter in such a way you cannot even identify most of what is down there to ask for a price check. I suspect some employee became annoyed that people like me were buying all of HIS games and made the change to secure his stash.

Never attribute to malice where stupidity would suffice, I know but the former clearance shelf is still EMPTY but for a few PC educational titles where it was formerly fully utilized for game clearance.

Had a few decent pick-ups from K-Mart recently:

Tiger Woods 2003 (GC) - $2.99
NFL Blitz 2003 (GC) - $2.99
Kobe Bryant's NBA Courtside (GC) - $4.99
Prisoner of War (XB) - $4.99

I also saw many copies of Madden 2002 (GC) for $2.99 - which beats Best Buy's $4.99 price.

My current girlfriend worked at kmart for a few summers when she was home for college and hated it too. I think anyone that works for Kmart hates it, except this crazy old guy at the Haggerty one. I asked him to turn on the blue light one day and he did, essentially because he's off his rocker.

my father has worked for the company for 27 years. hes an assistant at the Troy store...where basically every other day the company heads come in and bug him cause thier bored. yep, the company is doing just fine...

and i really need to go check clearance tommorow

On Sunday (Aug 8), I grabbed Robotech Battlecry ($2.99) and Dave Mirra 2 ($4.99). They were the only clearance items at the Rochester > Ridge Road store.

In Amherst, they had a few games on $9.99-$14.99 (Transworld Surf, some other crap), but the real kicker was the four (after I bought mine) copies of Perfect Dark N64 for $2.99.

All I saw was Nascar Thunder 2002 for PS2 for $4.99 at Pleasentville, NJ. Other great clearance "deals" was Primal for on clearance $29.99 and a Jampack on clearance for $5.99, and Luigi's Mansion on clearance for $19.99. Besides having no deals, it amazes me how this K-Mart stays in business. There was 1 register open in the entire store and the store was a mess.
