Kameo, PGR3, & Perfect Dark: Zero confirmed $49.99 at EB & GameStop
I thought it was supposed to be 49.99, I guess I am missing the point of this post
uh.. yeah, you are, because they were all $59.99.
Now i i have to get the collectors edition of perfect dark. Damn!!
but before this that CE was $69.99 :D

I don't know if this means much with EB changing the price. I remember when I reserved my DS with EB and they had prices of all the games as $39.99. These prices remained in their system almost up to a couple of weeks before the DS released and then they went down to their $29.99 real price.

EBGames may just be using the $49.99 price tag as a price holder until MS confirms this price. I mean, its very possible that MS published games will cost $49.99, and if so, that's very cool. But, if MS is gonna charge $50 for a wireless controller, I'm guessing their game prices are gonna be a little higher. There's a little something wrong going to buy an extra first party made controller and have it cost as much as a game.

You realize that you're doubting the exact thing EB has done before, according to your story. The price was high ($59.99) much like the DS's $39.99 games.. then they were lowered to $49.99 (to the DS's $29.99).

The controller is so much because it's wireless and it's Microsoft. Any other third party wireless would be $40.. but because the Microsoft logo's on it, extra $10.

Am I the only one that didn't believe that next gen games would be like $100? I mean is this really a "deal"?

Wow, would never thought I'd see the day people were happy to learn that they could buy games at only 49.99...haha.
Am I the only one that didn't believe that next gen games would be like $100? I mean is this really a "deal"?
Considering I have been spending $50 on games for 15 years. Also considering I spend $17 to go to the theater for a 100 min flick, $50 for a game that I will spend 20-60 hrs on is not a bad deal. After you are sick of the game you can Ebay it for $15 - $35. Then a few years after "launch" you will be able to find many $10 - $20 great games.
What does the Limited Edition include? Besides the game of course.
Joanna Dark style glasses so you can read the list that says "Limited Edition includes:" at the bottom of the EB listing
Way to go, Microsoft! I knew I could count on you!
Alright, now you're just being ridiculous. You can't count on Microsoft for anything. Haven't you learned that yet? :D

Unfortunately, I won't be able to get an Xbox until the third launch in my EB Stores and Gamestop stores so I had to plop down $700 bux on this bad boy. I was interested in getting all those games anyway so I am happy I will atleast get it on launch day.

OK, so they were $60 originally. Big deal. I mean no disrespect to the OP or to anyone else, but I guess I am not too excited about $50 launch titles. $10 is $10 I guess though.

Well, considering that until a week ago, all signs were pointing to all 360 games being $60, this is a (semi) big deal.

When Microsoft officially announces it, then I'll be excited. Until then, the numbers Gamestop and EB Games are posting could just be place holders.

I hope the industry sticks with the $50 price point...

Maybe it'll revert back to how it's like now... first party games from Sony and Nintendo (on DS at least) are typically $10 cheaper then 3rd party.
When Microsoft officially announces it, then I'll be excited. Until then, the numbers Gamestop and EB Games are posting could just be place holders.
Doubtful, since they were all priced at $60 yesterday.

Isn't Microsoft making their games $49.99 like kicking third party companies in the balls?
Now the price of a Xbox 360 game at launch has become a factor with MS games looking better.

I haven't spent more than 5 hours on a game since final fantasy X. Might as well just rent them or buy them ultra cheap...like star wars battlefront for 2.50. Star wars battlefront was definetly worth 2.50, hell I would've paid upto and including 4 dollars for that game!
Well yes, that article was actually posted here nearly a week before it showed up on Joystiq, i'm just posting that they've actually dropped.
but I would think u would be on top of this as not being a deal but more part of the 360 board. The actual price of a game does not constitute a deal in I think most people's eyes. Its good news that they are at that price, but not a deal just information.
Well yes, that article was actually posted here nearly a week before it showed up on Joystiq, i'm just posting that they've actually dropped.
Yeah, I definitely acknowledged the week's delay in the body of the article itself, but I just wanted to note that the story was up (not that Joystiq beat CAG to it or anything; after all, CAG was listed as a source for the Modojo info!).

I totally didn't even catch that you wrote the article nor that I was credited.. holy crap, i've been joystiq'd!

Whoa, that sounds bad.

I said it from the start, the games would NOT be $59.99. The only game that could possibly sell at that price point is Madden 06, it would be suicide for any game company to price them more. Hell even at $50, games just dobn't seem to sell like they used to.

Glad that sort of hysteria's out the way, now if all the punk ass "elitists" would stop bitching about having a choice of 2 360 packages then everything would be just peachy.

EDIT:

Just noticed that the release date for the launch titles are 11/15/2005, hmm, maybe ebgames knows something we don't. . .

I guess you didn't have a SNES or N64 at around launch time.

This is a deal section of a cheap ass site, paying regular price here for a game is not a deal.

You did explain why I don't go to movies anymore.

I hear you and like I said, $10 is $10. I guess I just disagree with the level importance of this announcement. Especially considering that most of us will likely be waiting for price drops regardless of whether or not they released as $50 or $60 (although I do recognize the need for at least ONE game at launch).

I justify going to the movies. I pay for one (day-time price) and stay for 2 or 3. That way my gf and I see 2 movies for $12.

Doesnt that hurt your ass sitting for so long?

Wow, $600 and $700 for the bundles on Eb's site. That's a bit high. I hope that this is not a sign of the what to expect from all of the retailers, otherwise the 360's early adoption rate is going to suck.

WTF?!

One movie here cost $12 for two people if you have a coupon.

I hate people.
Very good news, now all I wanna know is a release date.
I believe PDZ releases 11/15

Perfect Dark Zero Limited Collector's Edition for Xbox 360. The special release includes a comic booklet, a holographic glyph card, and a second disc containing bonus content. ~IGN

There is no release date whatsoever for PDZ. We assume November, but tha is not even confirmed.

And the CE is $60. That is what i have preordered.
